Thanks for watching!
Darn... I've got to admit.. when the songbird sunk underwater, it really made me sad.. ;-;
Also, the first four minutes are probably one of the most heart pumpimg moments you've seen in video games.
Lord OZ Not really, there was no danger from that thing at any point. It didn't attack you a single time and when it fell into the ocean and died I was just like "that's it?". Seriously, they could have turned this into an awesome boss fight!
I mean more in a cinematic sense. If you were in Booker's shoes, your heart would be trying to go all chestburster to try to GTFO
+xXYannuschXx but that would be stupid. it wouldn't be intimidating anymore. it would be just another heavy hitter enemy. not something that actually meant something. it wouldn't even be a good fight. just point and shoot with everything else in the game. It needs meaning, and that's why they made him invincible. He's the invincible guardian.
You do not fuck with songbird, songbird fucks with you.
"Careful, Elizabeth!"
"How do you know my name?"
"Subtitles."
15:43 behind Elizabeth and the dying Songbird. There's a huddled mass to the center left of the tunnel there and that's a Big Daddy with, if you look closely, a Little Sister trying to revive it!
+Daphne Lin It's a metaphor. The Big daddy protects the little sisters and when he dies the little sisters mourn their Big Daddies, The songbird is the big daddy and the little sister is Elizabeth due to him protecting her all her life and dies in Rapture
Why couldn't Comstock have settled with a Big Daddy with a jetpack?
I think that gasoline or anything to fuel a jetpack is hard to get in Columbia.
that sounds needlessly expensive and useless. the big daddy design had to be completely overhauled for a city in the sky
i but the songbird was like this when she opened that door "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST DO!?"
I loved the way Booker said "Elizabeth" when she was complaining about the bee.
Songbird's end = Foreshadowing
4:43
dat foreshadowing
I find it ironic how she hits Booker with a wrench in the First Lady Airship.
With my theory, that Booker from another circle was inside Songbird, that's real sad, that Liz choose one Booker over another.
I was literally just thinking about that same possibility
And if you want to add more injury to this theory... If Booker was Songbird... Then Elizabeth drowned him. Twice.
As much as I agree with you, I'm almost certain that'll never happen. The whole point of the Songbird is that in all the millions and billions of different universes, there were ZERO that had Booker kill it. He either never met it, escaped it or died trying. It completely goes against the fatalistic undertone of Infinite to have him fight it because he is doomed to lose against it EVERY TIME.
I love this compilation, because it also has scenes that mention songbird, and it's more complete.
Comstock: Good job songbird, now take her back to her tower....umm songbird why is her tower in pieces?
Well at least i got a songbird plush yay!!!!!
The Lutece Twins put the book there beforehand. No practically purpose other than for fun. XD
despite the fact that songbird doesnt have much apearence the role he plays is big enough to be considered one of the main cast.
also in the end when songbird falls you see a little sister in the background crying at a dead big daddy.
imo a songbird boss would've been good for the game, with all those "They won't stop til' they get you.." talk...
and i feel there is a rivalry between booker and the songbird for elizabeth, since they both act as protectors
That final scene always makes me teary.
gah. i love songbird so much
Meanwhile in Rapture..
*whale noises/big daddy groans*
"Look Mister Bubbles it's an angel"
*Big Sister Screech*
LOL I'm glad I'm apparently not the only one who actually cried at Songbird's death... that really got to me >_<
I think the ending was made that much MORE effective by the earlier reminiscing Elizabeth did about when she was a little girl and loved Songbird - it clearly loved her back, too, and being of a more or less animalistic nature, couldn't possibly hope to wrap its head around any of the bigger issues going on in the story.
So all poor Songbird sees is his only friend being taken away from him by some strange man, which likely has him simultaneously confused, sad, angry and maybe even a little scared of losing Elizabeth in failing to protect her.
And Bioshock 2, Deus Ex, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, SystemShock, SystemShock 2. All referencing a book titled "Fahrenheit 451" The novel presents a future American society where books are outlawed and firemen burn any house that contains them. 451°F being the autoignition point of paper, thus the title. (By the way, I am sorry it is your comment getting flooded with this information)
imagine if the final fight involved hooking onto songbird and taking out the zeppellins while having him fly you around
It is pretty ironic, in more ways than one, but it was probably the thickest, heaviest book she could find on the way down the steps. xD
yes there was, there was enough of him where you got to see enough, but at the same time there was the right amount of the character where he still had mystery to him and didn't become boring.
I find it ironic how she wants to hit booker with a book about quantum physiks.
It's also the first code in System Shock in 1994:451; the first code in System Shock 2 in 1999:45100 and the first code in Deus Ex in 2000;0451
Amazing, that's the combination to my luggage!
This has most likely been suggested already, but I feel almost certain that Songbird is just another alternate version of Dewitt. We know Fink saw the big daddies and designed Songbird based on them, Mark Metzer met the same fate in Bioshock 2, so who better to guard/protect/imprison Elizabeth then her own dead-beat dad?
15:14 In Rapture, DeWitt. We're in Rapture.
I love songbird
Poor birds:,(
I kind of feel bad for the songbird/ him(that's what the citezens of Columbia call him right?) because he cared about Elizabeth and he cared for her... and the just...murdered him. If you think about it, all he wanted was for her to come back.
12:05 oh wow, I didn't even realize there were freight hooks there, I straight up jumped out trying to chase songbird and get Liz back.
00:22 XD the book!
My first play through I used the hooks and on my 1999 run I just jumped out lol I had completely forgotten about them haha
Birds fly they don't swim. Poor thing never stood a chance.
shadowknight1121 ducks?
Actually, what if, after the tower was destroyed, the Songbird was still good, or at least on Elizabeth's side? I mean, all destroying the tower did was destroy any means of controlling the Songbird. It didn't necessarily mean that it turned bad again. As shown as it was dying, the Songbird was still affectionate for Elizabeth, so he might have still been good.
I SO agree with you! :D
I thought the ending was sad
So sad song bird
That would hurt.
11:53
4:51 and 6:20. These are the same animations of the Songbird. You might think that's the lazy animator, but what if it's the same bird who was filmed right now in other universe? I mean, he was filmed in corrent universe, and in other he's filmed right now, so two(or more) universes has the se record of him.
Or..lazy animator
The Songbird still loves to be alive. But the end of the game breaks the rule like a BREADSTICK. Grrrrr.
Anybody know where I can find the sound for when Songbird's eye switches from red/orange to green?
The Principles Op Quantum Mechanicks
I'm just gonna go find a corner to cry in because I don't like songbird cause he kind of scares me :(.
Back in rapture
In the begining when he jump in to the beach he is being crush to and i sure that is not extreme pressure
THE THEME MENES RUN NOW OR DIE
book of Luteces)
I think it has something to do with it's design not being suited to extreme pressure. Don't quote me on it.
0451 was the first code in the first bioshock
For once there is no stupid comment with someone posing a a character from bioshock
15 minutes out of a 12 hour game. Makes me sad :(
it'd be great, but we would be so overpowered and everyone would finish it in a day
best scene 3:30
was i the only dissapointed with the fact no boss fight with songbird at the end
It would kinda be disappointing if all you had to do is shoot the songbird over and over again to kill it. i mean he can take down buildings and all you would have to do is shoot it i think he had a good ending
is infinate before or after rapture becasue if its before the songbird could be the first big daddy
how about all scenes where you see the songbird?
I don't understand why songbird die in water :/
muffins
What is the name of the song that the golden Robot play?
The songbird's tune or theme
