      When viewers like your videos, does that increase your income?

      It would be so interesting to hear what you spend on your channel/business. For an employment the figures sound great, but as an entrepreneur I believe you will have to invest in your own skills, equipment, insurances, spaces, gas, digital tools, etc. In the end you are probably not able to "take home" all the income. How much did you spend as a content creator during these past six years?

    Funny thing is I skip travel vlogs regardless of the TH-camr, I enjoy daily normal vlogs. I hope content creators someday don't feel obligated to share their travels. Content creation it's not something easy and definitely not for everyone.

    Thank you for sharing this! As a SAHM, I have wanted to get into TH-cam more (I started making videos 2 years ago) but due to life changes I lost motivation and time to commit. I love seeing creators post behind the scenes like this because it makes content creation more relatable in a sense of highs and lows, and all the obstacles creators go through. I am eager to start creating again and this was definitely something I needed to see!

    Thank you so much, Ashlynne, for picking up the video I requested on your community post. This was seriously very helpful in understanding your perspective & how you work as a content creator. I especially loved what you said about having strict boundaries between what you share in your content & the parts you keep to yourself. This has become such an issue nowadays, I see so many vloggers sharing personal stuff online (it's so scary! & cringey as well) but I absolutely LOVE your content & how genuine it is. Your channel is the symbol of intentionallity for me because I actually see you practicing what you preach. Thank you for all you do. Keep thriving 💛

    I like how realistic this video is. The truth is, content creation is globally glamourized these days, but very few talk about the cons of this job, which is important in order to see the full picture! Just like any other workplace, it has its benefits and its drawbacks, and it's nice to see how open you were about it. 😊 Also, I want to add that I'm very happy to have stumbled upon your channel some years ago. Your videos are always so calming, they are my favorite way to relax after a long day. 💛

    Even though this was about content creating, many of the tips, boundries, and advice, and wisdom work for most people. Side note, I love travel vlogs. We couldn't afford to see much before we started having kids. Travel with kids looks more like camping on a budget. But with our baby of 7 kids now being 14, an empty nest is just around the corner. So travel vlogs give me ideas. So thank you!

    Hey Ashlynne! Really enjoyed this sneak peak into the behind the scenes of content creation! I rarely comment on videos, but I wanted to drop in this thought: sometimes I think of “making a difference” as something really lofty and life-changing. But I think it doesn’t have to just be this. For me, I love having your videos on in the background while I clean because they motivate me, and I feel like I have a cleaning buddy at my side! Your videos help me keep my living space cleaner, which improves the quality of life for me and for my family. Seems small, but it’s really not! Thank you for your wonderful channel!!

    Agree about honesty and transparency that’s what I’m striving to do with my channel. Authenticity. I find it refreshing in a channel to be real and open, I want to help people, encourage others online and in life. I want that person who may be struggling or living in not so good place financially or home in need of repairs or declutter to know you don’t have to have this busy picture perfect life, you don’t have to live in debt to keep up with Jones everyone home is not always clean, and that’s ok. to know there is hope that other people have been there and how to change things to positively impact your life and family. i love your channel for that 😊 you have helped me so much! With you, the minimal mom, and clutter bug I have been able to slow down, minimize and enjoy my home more. Thank you! Congrats on your Chanel i pray it continues to grow!

It doesn’t mean we can’t take any pics or vlogs but to be sure to *really* live -and love! ❤ WOW, great income-that is amazing how your subscribers grew and your income increased! • @AshlynneEaton

      Typically sponsors will start reaching out to you once you reach a certain subscriber threshold! I started getting my first few brands reaching out when I hit around 30k subscribers, but the offers got a lot more steady once I hit 100k. Typically, I don’t reach out to brands though, I just let the ones that want to work with me come to me. 🤍

    Thank you for clarifying the conflict of filming your rest periods. I watched your recent video about Getaway and commented that I understood why you shared it but that you should've experienced the break it was intended for. I would suggest your next break just take a few pictures so that you can immerse yourself in the moments, then share them in a creative video and talk about your trip after you get back home. You should be allowed to enjoy your rest. Your subscribers will understand :)

    • @AshlynneEaton
      @AshlynneEaton  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So actually, the way I found that getaway video was super strategic! It’s specifically talking to the camera that I find distracts me most from fully enjoying the moment. So you’ll notice that in that video, I never talk directly to the camera once. I just recorded the voiceover once I got home.
      So that combined with the fact that I actually filmed the video over the course of three days (meaning that I needed to film less each day vs. get all those clips in one day), really meant that it didn’t feel like a distraction from the experience at all.
      Of course, if I go on one of these in the future, I may not film it. But don’t worry, I was definitely intentional about making sure that I was still able to fully enjoy my getaway. 🥰🤍

    Compared to many other content creators you have a way of speaking that is chirpy, awake, and your aesthetic yes is minimal but very tasteful and you're not too thrifty either. It's realistic!! Theres another content creator that used to follow you, got jealous because she's done it for the same amount of time but she can't get sponsorships and decided to unfollow you. Keep being an example that you can do it with "work life balance"

When I heard you talk about your figures, I thought, it would be so interesting to hear what you _spend_ on your channel/business. For an employment the figures sound great, but as an entrepreneur I believe you will have to invest in your own skills, equipment, insurances, spaces, digital tools, etc. In the end you are probably not able to "take home" all the income. Hi! I’ve been following for a bit. Just became a homeowner and I’ve been wanting to use your minimalish mindset to decorate and furnish my home. Curious - why don’t you post on tiktok?

    Hi, Ashlynne! I really enjoyed this video and found it fascinating. I respect the way you don't share things such as having friends over to your home and your church life. Other people didn't choose the online life and as you say, not filming also gives you the headspace to invest in those encounters 100%. How was your citizenship party, by the way? 🎉

    Really enjoyed hearing about the realities of being a creator. Your videos are amazingly artistic & creative, I can see how much effort goes into making them. Thought I recognized the NZ scenery, maybe you passed through the city of Christchurch where I live!

    I'm not a content creator but what about having a body cam when you are out and about and cut clips from it? Pause the camera when you want.

    I enjoy editing as well the whole thing Filming and editing is such a creative outlet it’s so fun to try new things out with editing. What editing software do you use? And did you take any courses to learn? I am using a free app now, in shot, it seemed to the most user friendly app I could find to get started. I tried adobe but it was a little overwhelming starting out lol

    • @AshlynneEaton
      @AshlynneEaton  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use adobe premiere pro (although I’m not sure I would recommend it 😅). And I did take a few classes on skill share, and a few other platforms that helped me learn to edit. That and I watched a ton of TH-cam videos!
      Personally, I think if I could start again I would probably use either Final Cut Pro or Davinci Resolve. I’ve heard really good things about both, and they are supposed to be less complicated 🤍

    It's so interesting to see the money earned over 6 years. I feel that most people that have done well is a result of a lot of hard work and dedication for many years. For me it was 35 years of hard hard work as well a living in a financial responsible way . As a result of this I was able to retire with a good plan and have enough money to enjoy life. I can't stress enough to start planning for your retirement years the first day you start your first real job .

    Loved this video. I have recently started a channel (using a different email) called the Emerald Corner. It's all about helping people start small businesses, and how to keep their records and grow their business. I feel like it's something that I enjoy, but also what people need. So, I'm hoping it is something like you mentioned. :) Thanks for sharing all of your insights!
