He is what made me hate MK
He dies in the beginning. That's the good news. But the bad news is Shao Khan kills Lui Kang and Kitana kills Shao Khan with Johnny Cage as her sidekick.

Not sure why everyone is saying the first one sucked. I really liked it besides for the random Cole Young character that had nothing to do with original movies or games.

The people making the movie said they listened to the fans, BUT they still have Cole Young in it. They clearly DID NOT listen to the fans. That was about 70% of the complaints were about him. This movie is going to fail if they dont end Cole Young early in the movie

@@imatakeyobiscuitlaugh1695 who was he in Mortal Kombat games? He is NOT part of the MK universe and the director is adding in his own lore and people into that lore. Mortal kombat has plenty games and lore over over 30 years. Now the director added his own character and when asked by Ed Boon, he said he wouldnt never even add Cole Young into the game
They already said he’s going to die in the first 20mins
They should just take notes from the video game and make it more relatable to it

Look im a Karl Urban fan like the rest of us, but i still can't get over how they picked him to be Johnny Cage.
Sorry but that's just a miscast to me just as Pedro Pascal playing Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four and Yaya Abdul Mateen playing Wonderman are also both miscasts despite good actors.

Yeah Johnny Cage should've been casted as some one else. I read online that this Johnny Cage is supposed to be an older version. That's why Karl Urban got the part
Pedro's and Yaya's castings are starting to grow on me a little but not who I would've cast. I agree Karl Urban is a great actor but not fit for Johnny and if the wanted to go the older route Ryan Reynolds would've been perfect

I can't wait to see outstanding pictures of kitana,shao Kahn,king Jerrod,sindel,baraka,Johnny Cage,Shang tsung,noob saibot, scorpion,Quan chi,Sonya blades, Jax and more secret characters appear in mk 2, please killed off Cole Young and make Liu Kang the main protagonist in the sequel

The miz from the WWE would of been my only and first choice for Johnny cage. Cole young is the one of many things that killed it for me.
That's cool man, I appreciate the current details here. I'm a little disappointed that the headline said first look when I don't think any footage of the actual filming was displayed here. But enough nit-picking sorry. I'm super excited they're bringing out a big evil boss again. When I think of MK Shao Kahn tops the list of. Notorious badasses. 10 more fight scenes is a great idea, glad they doubled up on those. But the best part you mentioned is a detailed telling of the mysterious history of the fabled Kingdom of Edenia.... Which seemed like a just and prosperous place before the fall the king and the princesses separate tragic fates. Been huge MK fan since the start please keep us posted!
Would've been better as a series. They could flesh this lore out so much. What is it, nearly 30 years worth? Still looking forward to it though.
They had a series, an it was way better than this last movie and was on low budget
I'll never understand why a series as complete as mortal kombat, is always made into movies that never are true to the original story or mechanics

Can't wait to see it. It'll be my first Mortal Kombat movie I see at the theater. I was gonna see the first one at the theater, but my local theater was closed at the time due to the pandemic.

I loved the first MK and hoped we'd get this sequel.
Cole Young does need to take a backseat though. Maybe fans wouldn't hate him so much if they didn't try to put him on a pedestal. I mean, beating Goro, c'mon. Other than that I had no issue with the new character.
But I can't wait to see MK2 next year!!

Jimmy Cage won't be in this movie because they couldn't find someone to play the role. Karl Urban was NOT cast as Jimmy Cage. He is in the movie, but he will be playing Night Wolf. Someone got confused about what character he is playing.
IMDB has him credited as Johnny, but we won’t really know until the movie is out.
What I didn’t like about the first one- yall made it about a character that’s NOT in the game, scorpion pops up in the ending and that GET OVER HERE was weak, I feel like we’ll see Milenna again due to the statement that death is only the beginning or something he said lol can’t remember. Lu Kang character was goofy and love the actor that played Jax but he shouldn’t had played Jax.

Karl Urban is more Kano than Cage. I know there’s already a Kano, but I don’t see him as Cage.
I dunno, I think he potentially could be a show stealer as Cage. He brings it to every role. Butcher for sure, but also Eomer in LotR, Bones in Star Trek, Judge Dredd. Even in meh films he's pretty good.
