As a shooter who has been lucky enough to own the highest end PCP rifles money can buy ,in my opinion the more you pay the better you get isn't exactly true when it comes to the prices of PCP rifles , a BSA r 12 is just as accurate as a daystate deltawolf and it's at least half the price , around 1200 UK , however an air arms single shot s200 is just as accurate as both of the above and again it's probably half the price of the BSA r12 , I've found buying a well looked after second hand higher end rifle is the best way to get into the world of PCP shooting , it's important to find a reputable seller who you know will service the rifle before selling it and also give you a 3 to 6 month warranty , once you find a shop who actually service and power test their second hand rifles ,and giving a 3 month warranty ,well you will find yourself buying a hw100 or a huntsman that's 5 or six years old but in as good a condition as a new one but around half the price .
Nice guns but beyond my price range unfortunately, I’ll stick with my Air Arms S400 ( as accurate as the Uragans for a quarter of the price) and Weihrauch HW110 ( a lovely little rifle).
A big advantage of the Uragan and Vulcan compared to my S510 and HW100KT would be the Day Tank would be completely unnecessary, which straight off would save a couple of hundred quid and lighten the load by 6-10kg when going to shoot.
Hi Andy - Great review, I would be interested in knowing a bit more detail on some things namely: put Carl in James May mode and get some more detail on what has changed, understanding the mysterious “Orange Mod”, a little bit on the difference between the various AGT models (particularly the V1,2 and 3) and finally some idea of shot arcs on the sub-12 at 40 metres. This might sound a bit geeky but you previously did a great analysis on arcs and retained power. With better technology are .22s reducing drop over 35 metres ?
No matter the velocity, every pellet, arrow, rock falls at the same speed. To learn that, take one and drop it from barrel height. The differences come from the different forward velocities. Faster projectiles take less time to the target, so drop less. The reason the arrow or rock curves upward is because it was aimed upward so it could curve, balistic, downward to the bull's eye, all the while falling at the same speed as when you dropped it. Nothing's easy.
Andy, question what preparation do you do with a new review gun out of the box clean barrel ect , can you do a video on this please for a new buyer looking to get their 1st pcp at around the £1k mark I would like to know how to get the best out of my new purchase.
Is there any chance of a review of the .177 version, now that they are freely available. Its in my shopping list and i am keen to get my hands on one, but want to see and hear your thoughts on it first
Speaking of interchanging stocks.... I have the AGT Uragan, not Uragan 2. I'd like to change the black plastic stock out with a walnut stock. I'm wondering if a Uragan stock from a Uragan 2 will fit on my Uragan. They have walnut upgrade/replacement on a website but it's for a Uragan 2. They sure look the same in pictures. I love my Uragan .30 , it sure packs a punch.
How does the head position compare to the Vixen please ? I'm finding the Vixen a tad wide, making it feel as though I'm having to lean over the top in order to get my eye centered with the scope. Don't suppose my fat face is helping 🙄. Splendid vid BTW 👍
That is a great gun seemingly doing everything right. What's the trigger pull poundage? Thanks for telling the price, most reviewers don't, so we have to look it up ourselves.
Very good gun, but rings like Big Ben and barks as loud as a Rottweiler, and that is with AGT Titan Monolithic suppressor. The orange MOD must have been good on your guns?

Nice Rifle, AGT kit does seem nice. Safety catch appears silent in operation, nice for pest control, but is the side lever operation as loud in reality as it sounds on mic? Nice review👍👍
The large highlighted logos puts me off a bit on a premium rifle, a bit like buying a Ferrari or Porsche with foot high letters plastered down the side of it, doesn’t need it, nice looking rifle otherwise though.
The first thing I check when looking at an airgun is the weight …due to my advanced age. I just purchased a URAGAN 2 with carbon stock. The wood stock version was listed at 7.5 lbs so logic would dictate that the carbon stock version would weigh no more than 6.5 lbs. WRONG!! It tipped my postal scales at a hair under 8 lbs!!? So….further logic suggest that the wood stock version (especially the laminated one) will weigh close to 9 lbs, not 7.5 as shown on AGT’s spec sheet. I returned to the dealer (at my expense )and am waiting to see if he charges me a restocking fee.
As a product designer with a science degree covering material studies, I really can't see how that could be a true carbon fibre stock. It's most likely glass fibre reinforced ABS or what they call 'ballistic polymer' perhaps they have substituted the glass fibre with carbon fibre? Either that or the actual carbon fibre (held together with resin and very fragile) has been coated with a polymer sleeve.
@@briansmith6862 Milled/chopped carbon 'fibre' is just a dust you mix with resin and not a fibre at all, it is like mixing sawdust with PVA to create gap filler, the strength is completely reliant on the resin you use with it not the structural integrity provided by woven carbon fibre which reinforces the resin. It's like I mentioned above, it could be carbon fibre mixed in with a polymer except worse as there are no fibres to reinforce the polymer making it fragile like metallic polymers as all it does is reduce the amount of bonds between the polymer bonding to itself, and the carbon is not chemically bonded at all only physically suspended and encased in the polymer. Think of styrene foam packaging where the carbon would be the air bubbles. Sure it's lighter but also weaker.
@@briansmith6862 Then why do they use it in powder form? I'm genuinely interested, I read up on directional milling to reduce tool fatigue on actual woven fibres but using powdered carbon (fibre) mixed with polymers is less damaging to tooling and that's about the only benefit I could find. What you are talking about isn't milled/chopped carbon fibre but actual strands of carbon fibre which is just an improved take on fibreglass reinforced polymers.
@@briansmith6862 I understand how it makes it lighter but not how it makes it stronger, chemistry is not my strong point but physics tells me it should be weaker..?
