    Hey great and efficient video!
    I'd suggest one small piece of advice. You can link the mask of your blur map that is in the precomp to another mask in your main comp. So it becomes super easy to adjust the edges of the blur map according to your footage 🙌

    Would that be easier to do in Premiere with a simple mask?

      This effect is certainly possible in Premiere, however I would say that it is only easier to do if you're doing a basic version of the effect. If you wanted to fine-tune it to work best for your particular footage, the more variation you try to implement the more After Effects is a better tool for the job. Hope that makes sense. Thanks!
