    I'm 200% that when Uriah sits at night thinking about life, I bet he wishes he never threw that kick. I know it won him the fight, gained him popularity but hear me out. It completely killed his killer instinct. After seeing that guy literally almost die in that ring, it messed with his head. Every next fight he had something in his mind that didn't let him go 100% as he legitimately could kill the other guy. Crazy.

      Agreed, you could see it in uriahs eyes that he knew he "fucked" up. Horrible knockout, i think Uriah ruined his career with that kick. End of the story, he got scared after that one and i understand him.

      This may sound crazy but as a fighter you have to deal with that. Either guy could die and if you are scared of seriously hurting your opponent you will get seriously hurt by them.

    I truly believe THIS is the fight that ruined Uriah's career. He hasn't attacked ANYONE in the UFC with the same ferocity as he did with this one kick. It's like he scared himself with his talent. He's got SO much potential and skill but he just won't pull the trigger . He has the killer instinct of Tracy McGrady. (B ball reference. T Mac in an interview admitted he didn't have the killer instinct that Kobe had which is why their careers were SO different)

    That one knock out is why he never really did much in the UFC. I believe that he’s scared of his own power. He knows that he could genuinely ruin someone’s life with his strikes and seeing Adam on the floor that day with everyone around him, Dana pacing up and down and doctors doing their best to get Adam back up just fucked with his mind

    • @jacobrickayzen2744

      Ironically, some people worry they've done too little. That they've not accomplished much with their life, haven't left an effect on people and that if they disappeared it would be without a blip on the world's radar. I wonder if he's the opposite - he wields extreme power - over whether someone lives or dies and the knowledge is too much for him.

    • @taumagalahi
      @taumagalahi 9 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      It wasn't too fancy that he played it, he played it too safe. He lacked the mental maturity and killer instinct at the time to set aside the friendship and respect he had for Gastellum. It for in the way of his focus. He had bright moments but he seldom pushed the pace or showed the same aggression. This is a known fact in numerous interviews and behind the scenes. It's what made Dana question whether he has the true fighting spirit or if he was too nice. Now he has that hunger and drive. The desire to win.

    He knows money isn’t worth Accidentally Killing people in a ring just for the Glory of winning. No amount of money would’ve erased that image of him dying in that ring. You gotta do what’s right for your spirit.

    i would say uriah is up there with anderson. when he is on, he is Amazing. just look at the moussasi fight. i think he can be middleweight champion if he gets pass anderson. but anderson is the goat.

      Silva is not what he used to be. He's the goat for sure, but he's not the best anymore. Uriah isn't consistent enough and his Ju Jitsu isn't good enough yet to be champ

    Not sure if i’m missing something but everyone in the comments seems to have this narrative that Hall lost his killer instinct from almost killing Adam Cella with that headkick. Was this covered in Ultimate Fighter? Because while it was a brutal knockout it didn’t look to me like Cella was dying and i’ve not found anything on the internet to show Uriah was traumatised by it.

    I don't think this fight ruined him. One day if he sees this opportunity again, he'll take it. Win's a win. Adam got wrecked, but it didn't cripple him. If his back's against a wall, watch the fuck out lol

    He could have been the champion of Middleweight division but he is too kind for it. He enjoys competing and training but the consequences of killing techniques aren't to be trifled with, truly too kind for that grim side of the sport.

    Uriah Hall is fuckin LETHAL but like the comment below that terror started declining when he made it to the big dance it was like he was unsure of himself and that was frustrating Dana White.

    Never understimate any opponent past present future stay your best and if you know in the room you ain't gonna win get the fuck outta there to me that's smart and you have choices and free will or don't listen to your first instinct does that sound right?

    This was the beginning of the end of his career and then when he knocked the sense out of bubba it was a wrap. Dana and chael and the rest of the team made it seem like he almost killed two people and he got scared as fuck. Now he is too timid to be in the UFC.

    Y’all want their to be a bigger story to everything. Go back and watch the whole fight, Uriah never had that killer instinct. Not even in this fight. That round was pretty even before he kicked his head off. And not because Adam looked that good, but just because Uriah likes to wait around and counter rather than forcing the issue.
