A great, thought provoking video. This is a lecture worthy of a speaking engagement at a writer’s conference. A Super Thanks for sharing your experience and giving back to the writing community. I’m glad I subscribed. Great job.
Thank you. I went back and analysed two of my books and I have done this without knowing it, especially in 'Dilemmas of a Midddle-aged Madonna', Cecile Ravell. I'm grateful for the validation, though.
If the series has an overarching storyline, then theme will be handled the same way as in an individual story, with the overarching plot/character arc pointing to your story's thematic Truth. Within each individual installment, you can then explore more minute expressions of that evolving theme through the discrete character arcs and plot structures of each episode.

@@KMWeilandAuthor I think another way is to increase pressure from the Lie so the character has to struggle with it more and more, almost succumbing to the lie, in a tragedy he can fully embrace the lie in the end

This is absolute gold. Thank you.

Yes!!! You are using Hunger Games!!
Is Effie the sidekick?
I'd categorize her as more of a Contagonist character.
Thank you for such a great post!! I need to ask, How can I work the theme in a series and in the individual book of the series?

@@KMWeilandAuthor thank you so much!! Blessings from Argentina ❤️🇦🇷
Can you speak on how to navigate the end of an origin story, that you know will be multiple books in the future.
Is there a test, a set of success conditions, or benchmark to determine it's there?

What do you think about themes in a flat arc stories?
The same principles apply, with the steadfast character representing the positive aspect of the thematic Truth.
@@KMWeilandAuthor the problem is how to introduce progressive movement to the Truth if the character already knows the Truth

@@tedarcher9120 Yes, doubt is also a key component in creating dynamism in many Flat Arcs.

“This week’s” writing video????? You’re doing weekly content now instead of posting gold and disappearing into the ether?!
She hasn't written any fiction in 10 years (and really not that much before that). Seems like the tips and tricks she's selling don't work (anymore).
