For me brown rice is a lot like brown bread in that it has so much flavour of its own it really has to match the other flavours. For example, peanut butter works great on brown bread, vintage cheddar is great on buttered dark rye but brown bread spoils a ham and cheese sandwich with its flavour, it’s best with white bread and for me I much prefer Basmati for its mild flavour that compliments rather than takes away from the dishes flavour as brown rice does, for me brown rice separates it’s flavour rather than incorporates with the other flavours, I also find brown rice far to chewy and tiresome to eat. Personal preference in food as always.

kedgeree with chicken, brown rice and kale? really? Its not even a version of the original dishe, just call it chicken fried rice.People change things around, make things up and think can go away with it. I am gonna put sardines in a bread and call it hot dogs ok?

More like spicy chicken fried rice but kedgeree is made with fish.

Prick the top of the eggs to stop them splitting.

In Urdu or Hindi, yes. But this is a more Anglicized version. Calling it kedgeree is just fine.
