I recommend that you listen to Samaltau, the Tokyo Jazz festival version. It is in Kazakh, a song about a young man conscripted into the war having to leave his homeland. It was done in his studio as it was during lockdown.
I also strongly recommend the intensely moving Samaltau. The instrumental at the beginning represents wolves, etc., along the forced march of the soldiers who were taken at gun point to fight for Russia. "SamalTau" is the region in Kazakhstan from where they were taken. The name means "Breezy Mountains." Dimash didn't want these young countrymen of his to be forgotten, and I think they are intensely commemorated in this song.
