You need apple software to configure it first time and it's dedicated to be used for TimeMachine backups. I have feeling this is just network drive so after initial setup - there might(?) be possibility to read it from non apple systems (windows, linux) and mount as network drive - but I have feeling it don't make sense - in same money You can definitely grab older trusted NAS.
I found mine. I purchased this back in 2011?? Or maybe 2013??
I realized that it has to have been serviced. The temperature sensor did not have its oval holder, it was just the sensor under the tap with no mount.
Check if HDD have small black "Apple" logo if have then it is OEM. Most common reason for opening is dirty fan.
Are these things worth with non-apple equipment? Or are they for Apple only things? Thanks!
