Here’s some advice since I have braces! You’re teeth may hurt really bad so obviously take some Tylenol and rub it on the tooth that’s hurting. And you won’t be able to chew hard food so soup, yogurt, smoothies, pretty much anything soft is good. And if a wire is poking your gum put wax on it. They should have given it to you.
Don’t me be nervous or scared for braces! I’ve gotten them twice now haha. your teeth may be sore after getting them and/or tightening them but it goes away after a few days, just remember to take care of them and you will be good to go!

They will hurt rly bad for about a week and it will feel like they will never feel normal again. BUT TRUST ME, they get better after about a week to 2 weeks and feel COMPLETELY normal! The wire is activated by the heat of your mouth causing it to hurt so ice cream and cold stuff will cool it down. Eat soft foods!! omg gl! I have braces rn and the first week or so is HELL so feel free to take a break from yt! If you use cold stuff to soothe the pain it TIGHTENS the brackets, making it hurt more, but numb it in the process- using hot water and gargling can provide some sort of relief too! Id recommend the color purple BC it was super cute when I got it- NEVER GET CYAN!!! no matter how nice it looks in the color pick it literally looks like a neon sign is in my mouth rn! gl and brush ur teeth after you eat bc all sorts of shi gets stuck in it. PRO TIP: after the first month or so I ate nuts and like hard food- no brackets were broken sooo take that as you will. PRO TIP 2: the period of time it hurts you wont be able to eat any slightly hard food- I couldnt eat pizza (cried about that for days) or burgers or any of my fav food. I was living off mash potato
