What a legend. My parents used to go to the embassy club in the 80s. I would always wave to Bernard when I saw him in his white American car. In 1980s Manchester this was a sight to behold and he ALWAYS waved back!
Bernard manning gave hundreds of thousands of pounds to children's charities with no publicity at all. He was not racist in any way. Every race got the same treatment
I love how he could complete switch his act for tv and was just as funny as he was in the clubs. A real British funny man hated only by the people who have allowed Britain to disappear for ever.
That is a very well thought out reply, I totally agree with what you said, it is a massive shame that Britain has gone this way. Taking the piss is what we are good at and better than any other country in the world. Our comedy is the best, was the best...RIP
Loved seeing BM live at his club or at a event somewhere. I always came away with a aching stomach and headache through laughing constantly 🙃 whatever he joked about never made me a racist that's for sure. Very sharp funny man.
No matter what all those terminally joyless, ‘politically correct’, self-righteous moaners say, Bernard was a true master of his art. The timing and delivery is simply impeccable. I also live the dryness in the way he doesn’t laugh at his own jokes - it us hilarious, unlike McIntyre, Evans etc
Bernard Manning in his prime and at his very best. RIP Bernard. I'm Asian and no comedian had made me laugh as much as you did. You were truly class. Those who called you a racist can (in your own words) 'get fucked!'
Bernard has always been my favourite comedian and that`s not knocking some of the others out there because there is some other funny ones out there as well.
I loved Bernard Manning loved it when he said 'I've tried to make people laugh....' and I did nothing but laugh, he was born to be a comic, I really admired him, and then he said '..and for those I didn't make laugh, can get fucked'!
Britain use to have the best comedians in the world. Nowadays I can't name 1 decent comic. PC culture has destroyed comedy in Britain, so here I am going back to the good old days when we were free and people knew how to make each other laugh.,
What a load of a old shit, racism doesn't make comedy funny, plenty of good comedy has been produced that is not "PC", this is boring old racist tripe that is just easy and generic, nothing clever or witty about it, it's just spiteful.

You mucky devil! Going to see Bernard were you? I bet you got there 4 hours before the show started to get a seat at the front for a birds eye view so to speak!!
You must be a woman thinking that we went to see the strippers we all went to see Bernard and the other comedians ,women used to think like you ,best boxing Day afternoon out in the country ,
I must say i never found anything offensive about Bernard Manning he was just a really funny comedian. Obviously he couldnt do the racist stuff toaday but it wasnt really racist because he was equally discriminating towards absolutely all races (including himself, he often referred to himself as a fat bastard) and it was so obviously just cheeky comedy really. Lighter times. Legend.
The old vaudeville comedians of the early 20th century stole from each other its been going on forever.. The late great Merton Berle and Henny Youngman would battle it out with often the same material then later on Rodney Dangerfield..
Great Stuff, would not be allowed to get on stage and do this now..political correctness is a manifestation of low self esteem and there is no place or excuse for it...RIP Bernard.

It takes real talent to be extremely funny while telling very clean jokes with no bad language. Of course he was even funnier when he swore and went politically incorrect also. But this proves what a great talent he was, he could do both styles and be equally funny.
There are SNOWFLAKES everywhere People who want to get offended so they can complain But there is ONE comedian today that gets away with it........ JIMMY CARR and he is on the Television ALL THE TIME

Bernard Manning was a superb comedian even if some of his racist stuff was a bit over the top. I did admire him, however for his couldn't give a damn attitude towards political correctness and the po - faced 'woke' attitude that was beginning to emerge towards the end of his career. He may have been offensive to some but he most definitely stuck to his guns and did not kowtow to anyone or anything. He certainly was his own man right upto the end.
Saw him in Hemel Hempstead and he was telling gags about every nationality when Australia came into the firing line.He said how about that Rolf Harris singing about 2 little boys and Tie me Kangeroo down sport - dirty bastard what was he into.Years later many a true word in jest
That last gag is so apt for today. R.I.P Bernard. You were the best stand up comedian bar none.
A true gentleman a brittish icon. He talks the talk walks the walk and sings the way we all want to hear. A master class.
Never be another bernard Manning. Absolute genius RIP
What a legend. My parents used to go to the embassy club in the 80s. I would always wave to Bernard when I saw him in his white American car. In 1980s Manchester this was a sight to behold and he ALWAYS waved back!
Have to say his timing was spot on. Builds the crowd up perfectly.
When Britons weren't afraid to speak the truth and have a sense of humour. The clock needs rewinding and fast.
Totally agree
Lets Rewind the clock ... and fast... we don’t need fast... well 40 days and nights might help you.

Couldn’t agree more! Racism is a propaganda tool being used by the no good shithouses called politicians. The world has become a awful place to live

Pure class, superb delivery, the best UK standup ever

the white race didn't get the same treatment as the others-if you dont know the meaning of racist jokes
@@burlhorse61 oh yes me being irish got roasted

Master of the standup, great delivery and told with Manning's unmistakable rough , smoker's gruff voice...... Legend

In my opinion without a shadow of a doubt the greatest stand up comedian the world is ever likely to see
