it took me a lot of courage to finally open up and say this.
i stopped listening to Leaves right after my cousin died. This was his favorite song and he would insist that I should listen to this weeks before he died (he died from an accident). Whenever I hear leaves or it plays on my phone, i literally would skip and play the next song because I could hear him play and sing along. Today, just like the first time, I'm listening to it again. It was never easy after all I was the only person in the family who witnessed everything in the hospital room. It was tragic. He left without goodbye. It's been a year already since he passed away and I could still remember every moments we had. Though he left us with a biggest scar in our hearts, this song gives comfort to ease away our pain and healing.
"We never really love someone until we learn to forgive." I forgive you, for leaving me/us first. I know it will take a lot of time to heal but we are working on it. We can't help remember and wishing you were here with us.

Last June 11, 2022 they performed in Aurora Fest. First time ko umattend ng ganong music fest na dapat hindi matutuloy kase nagkaroon kami ng financial constraints, family problem, loaded school works in short nadepress ako. I am working student and I've been carrying so much pain para lang macontinue ang pag-aaral at pagtatatrabaho. So that I won't be a burden to my loved ones. Going back to their performance, unang line pa lang I got goosebumps. Then tumingin lang ako sa taas at pumikit hanggang sa tumutulo na lang yung luha ko. Naaalala ko nung panahong sobrang dami ng problema ko pinaparinggan at sinasaulo ko to para sa Fest and simultaneously crying kase ambigat na talaga. Naniniwala ako na I will be alright in time. Thanks for your music, I am fighting and thriving! Para sa future na deserve ng pamilya ko❤️

This song gives me comfort whenever I feel sad. I remember when I had a depression, I pray to God to take all my pain away while listening to this song kasi I feel like I couldn't make it, and I have no one to lean on, I don't have someone who can listen, but I do understand somehow, because we all have our own problems to deal, even though I understood, there is still a part of me that wants someone to lean on, no matter what I do, I have nothing but myself. I always think how nice it is to have someone to lean on whenever you need it.
When I was okay na I thanked God because he took away all the pain I was carrying, the trauma I had even disappeared for a while but sometimes I still remember how hard it is to forget but at least I made it.
I got over everything including God and myself.
I'm so hankful to those people who asked me how have I been.

The thing about forgiveness is people tend to assume that it equates to being back in each other's lives. People tend to question your ability to forgive base on how tolerant you are in allowing that person to be a part of your life again. Forgiveness should mean you are ready to put everything behind you and move forward. Be it with those people that hurt you or separately. So even if some won't welcome you in their lives anymore it doesn't mean forgiveness hasn't been granted.

This song is my favorite song of Ben&Ben. This is actually my healing song because I am a person who is having a hard time forgiving someone even herself. Whenever I hear the lyrics "you never learn to love someone until you forgive", it constantly reminds me that I am a person who is in the process of growing so mistakes and failing to meet every expections is normal, and that I should (at least try) to give myself some love.
