    Maybe it's just me, but this guitar sounds better than some very, very expensive carbon fiber guitars I've heard on TH-cam.

    Mic & tone didn't work on my guitar and I'm not the only one complaining about this . And no response from Enya when complaining about this .

    The in body microphone is one feature that I really wish every manufacturer offered somewhere in their lineups.

    I loved mine until the “durable” carbon fiber back started cracking. I reached out to Enya, sent photos, and they said I must’ve banged or dropped it, but mine has always been stored in the case. They suggested putting a sticker over the cracks. I’m afraid the cracks are spreading.

    I bought an Enya in white Glitter. Most beautiful guitar ever. Why don't they make more?

    I have one, and here's my review. It's really pretty and unusual looking, so it get's people's attention. It's loud, projects well and sounds good from the listener's perspective. It doesn't sound like a wood guitar to me, but most listeners probably wouldn't hear a difference. Congregants at my synagogue, where I play it, like it more than I do. From my perspective as a player, the sound is predominantly bass and lower mids, which drown out the treble frequencies, which I don't enjoy. Does not sound balanced to me as a player, even if it is balanced to the listener. I don't know if this is the situation with other offset soundhole guitars, as this is the only one I've played. It's heavy, the heaviest acoustic I've ever played, which is not as heavy as a Les Paul, but still, you feel it. I play mainly unplugged, and the chorus is too subtle to be useful that way, although the reverb and delay work adequately. The out-of-the box setup was not good; action was high. I had a tech set it up and lowered the action a bit more on my own. I think the nut is also not cut low enough, as it's not as comfortable to play as any of my wood guitars, at least one of which was a lot cheaper than this (a Breedlove Passport). I'm not sure whether to sell it or keep it as a travel guitar. Thing is, for a travel guitar, it's sturdy, but it's big and heavy.

      Good to hear from someone who isn’t trying to sell it. Thanks

      Thanks for the additional review. Regarding the sound hole, it's interesting to hear another take on that. I have a ~15-year-old Ovation LX Elite with multiple smaller sound holes in the same location as this Enya (Ovation calls them epaulets) that I bought when I was playing at our relatively small synagogue. After comparing many guitars in the same price range, including other Ovations with standard sound holes, I found that the sound did seem to be biased a bit toward the bass and lower mid-range, while treble notes were less prominent but still crisp and well defined. I was playing unplugged at the time and I thought that the tone balance toward the bass would be useful in the small synagogue environment.
      I now live in a higher elevation area with large swings in temperature and humidity between summer and winter, and the guitar needs a fair amount of adjustment between the seasons, which is why I'm looking at carbon fiber options now that there are some in this price range. I also tend to prefer a lower action, however, and it sounds like the Enya will need some work to get there, but then it would hopefully be more stable.

      Finally someone talks about the action! Thanks!

    • @photo200
      @photo200 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Dr.AdilsananOfficial I recently watched another YT review (I wish I could remember which one, but I've watched several by now) where the reviewer also noted the high action, but mentioned that some people have told him that the action can be lowered by a small adjustment of the truss rod. That would imply that the guitar neck tends to come with a bit of concave bow. David Rothberg also feels the nut is too high. All these things can be addressed, but it's good to know not to expect it to be spot-on when you get it and that it will need a bit of work to dial it in

    • @Dr.AdilsananOfficial

    Unless I missed it, surprised not to hear mention of the set up and action. Given the majority of written user reviews on Amazon say action was WAY too high and many said unplayable without adjustment, when i do not hear discussion at all, that makes me suspect on the review bias.

    looks like precision manufacturing and the floating fretboard is nice!
    Still feels more like office equipment than a music instrument...
    I prefer Emerald's comfortable body shaping and the high fret access.

    My personal feeling is that a resonator might be a better instrument for carbon fiber. It has that tonal quality about it already. If you tried a slide in an open tuning I’m sure it would be a unique sound that it delivers. Acoustically I’ll reach for my ‘77 SCGC old growth Koa which is light as a feather.. nice job on your playing as always Nick!

      Really? I saw a lot of guitar tutors use this guitar and it sounds as good as most wood guitar

    • @LJWalter78
      @LJWalter78 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why use condenser mics on this demo? Personally I want to hear the built in pick-ups. Get some sort of an idea of the tone + responsiveness they send out.
      And I do NOT not NOT not LIKE there being the embarrassing onboard verb, DDL + chorus FXs. Very cheap & distracting to me. It just doesn’t work at all. Not on this acoustic guitar anyway. Leave the FX to the engineer.
      Overall I must agree on the “harshness” of this guitar. The tone is nail on a chalkboard type of “screechy”.
      Someone tell me, why is carbon fiber, so cool again? I’m not impressed. rather have a Chet Adkins with a warped neck than one of these brand new out of the box.
