Black people, white people, Puerto Ricans, Samoans...
I miss that old unity we used to have.
💯
Interesting... so this country wasn't always a hateful evil misogynistic racist place?
Yep, good times.
We still do.
@@NoahSpurrier Not liberals. They divided us once again
RIP Shock G
Humpty Hump was Shock G's alter ego. His real name is Gregory Edward Jacobs.
R .I.P Shock G
If you look in the background one of the dancers is Tupac Shakur.
Tupac got his first feature on their track, *Same Song* from the Nothing But Trouble soundtrack.
Also, Shock G aka Humpty was a talented pianist, as well as rapper and lyricist
And Treach from Naughty by Nature.
All around the world
Gosh I'm old I was like in highschool when this was popular maybe middle school.
NEITHER TREACH OR 2PAC ARE IN THIS VIDEO❗️❗️❗️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤣🤣 This is a BIG MISCONCEPTION❗️ This Track, The Entire Record Sex Packets and The video were all shot and finished before 2PAC joined DIGITAL UNDERGROUND! Digital Underground did perform this song with PAC as a dancer later on but the G.O.A.T. is definitely not in this video ❗️
Im a 52 year old white guy and I seriously bumped this.
Our Retirement Home parties are going to be so awesome.
55! Danced this shit in a club!
I had an Army friend from Boardman Ohio, a disenchanted Frank Zappa fan, and I was with him the first time he heard this. I think it's when his heart started beating. He LOVED this song. This one and "Mr. Wendel" by Arrested Development. If I had a dollar for every time I heard "Go ahead Mister Wendel", I could retire. RIP SJMay. (He's not dead. I just pretend he is so I don't hate on him.)
Yeah, the Humpty dance would pack the dance floor.
Still does. Depends on who the audience is ... I'm a DJ ... 😂 RIP to Shock G (Humpty Hump was his alter-ego) and 2Pac (who was a member of Digital Underground and a dancer in the video).
@@TheDudeFromFairfax-tw2rz Digital Underground spawned and influenced so much in Hip Hop
I always turn the volume up when this song comes on! I also remember when this song wasn't bleeped 😂
Oh sure, make me feel old, you whipper-snapper! This song was EVERYWHERE when it came out.
It was OUT back then!! The house parties I remember!!’😍😍😍😎
There was nothing better than doing The Humpty Dance with your friends (yes, it was a real dance) at a random moment when this song came out of the radio
This song is a blast and yes it was all about nothing but fun.
That song brings back some good memories
Ah the good stuff
I'm 52 and back then that tape, nemesis, and dolomite was rocking lol!!!!
Digital Underground - Same song (2pacs first video)
Yes! 😃💯
💯
This was a dance club staple for years and years
At 53, I still start singing this song every so often when it gets stuck in my head 😄
Just like Jump Around, this song also brought back memories of high school! Thank you for reacting to this!
Humpty Hump is SHOCK G!
Digital Underground made an appearance in the hilarious movie Nothing But Trouble.
I love that hot mess of a movie.
"I drink up all Hennessey you got on your shelf" - always loved that line.
I was working for a lawn care service when this came out and it was just me and another dude and we had this tape and we played this song over and over and over for months! Every time I hear it I think about holiday lawn care lol I still can’t believe that dude gave us two young guys his truck and control of the business all day lol we had some good times! It was a different time then.
Legitimately one of the funnest songs ever.
when this came out it was #1 on the charts for months...when I heard this back in high school me and my boys played this on a loop, on a cassette tape, for 4 straight hours. Also they played this song at every dance and club I went to straight to the 2000s. Also back in the early 90s, you had gangster rap (like NWA), 'Bruh from Around the way' rap (Rakim, LL Cool J, Slick Rick, etc) and political rappers (like Public Enemy, EPMD) we had alot of party or fun rappers like Digital Underground, Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, Kid & Play and Bizmarkie and others...we had more diversity back then in rap. Also the line Humpy says 'getting busy in a Burger King bathroom' is an often quoted line in many many many raps
I always love your reactions! This song used to hit so hard in my car back in the day.
God, I loved this bass 🔊 line in my 🚗 You couldn't help but smile! 😁
I was at a donkey basketball game in 91 jamming to this song. High school was lit in the 90's. ❤ no cell phone cameras just enjoying the moment. This song is still on my playlists.
I miss this style of hiphop
Same
Shock G!! R.I.P. ❤❤ This song, "Free your Mind and your Azz will Follow." - George Clinton
We went crazy with this one. So much fun.
This reaction had me in tears 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Back in 1990, a lot of rap and hip hop was just having fun. Rund DMC, the Fat Boys, the Beastie Boys, De la Soul, many others.
Tupac Shakur 🖤🖤🖤
Subscribed because of this reaction!
Yup, Digital Underground was all about having fun, they were the type of band you'd hire to play at your house party!
INDIA! I am so happy to see you doing reactions again! Much LOVE!
And you are still beautiful AF!
Thank you soooo much
I used to bounce to this groove in the day. Nothin better!!
I'm a white kid from Indiana, and this song might actually be the first song that ever made me dance. RIP Shock G! This man brought us all together when that's what it was really about.
It's incredible to me there are people alive who don't know this song.
We was jamming to this in high school when it came out!
They used to play this in Jr. High school dances. 😅
Omg I hadn't heard this in decades
I once got busy in a Burger King bathroom... with the Burger King mascot.
All these years later and I can still sing along to this song!!
Good song great video😊😊😊
Digital Underground was all about the party🎉🎉🎉😊
Good rap song golden era of tap
Yeah baby girl during that time rap music was still about originality. That is before the music execs pushed all that kind of rap out and starting promoting gangster rap. His rap name was Shock G and Humpty was his alter ego. This was before social media and for the longest time people thought Shock G and Humpty were two different people. It was a genius gimmick. He even shot videos making it look like they were both in the video. He also was the one to put Tupac on and he was a part of the group as a dancer for a while. Tupac went solo blew up and the rest is history. Although, Shock G said he noticed when Pac started hanging with the wrong guys in the industry he began to get into trouble. He said he tried to warn him but Pac kind of brushed it off like he has everything under control.
I was in the Navy stationed in San Diego when he hit the scene and partied half way around the world and back to Digital Underground. It was a time
“What is this?” India I’ve been wondering that since it came out 💀 😂
Looking good. Glad you're back.
I do miss goofy-ass songs like this in clubs… I’m well past my club days 😄
love the Humpty Dance
I feel so old 😂 love seeing you smile and laugh discovering Digital Underground ❤
NOT his real nose. And he did a very good job of being both the Humpty character and himself in performances (in this video he's the guy in the black/white hat and shades). In an interview he once told the story of meeting a lady who was attracted to the Humpty character. So he goes to the trouble of demonstrating to her that this was just a character he created and not a real person. The lady still wanted Humpty - that's how convincing he was.
This was great and fun and a classic of all time, I loved it then and I still love it now
This one was big back when. Crazy song. Look in the backing dancers and singer. You might see someone you recognize.
That bass groove is legendary classic ❤
Tupac made his debut with digital underground.
The song was written at a time when music was just fun and for everyone.
Saw them in the 80s with Public Enemy and Kid n Play. Great show. Love that end part where he talks about the Humpty Dance. "First I limp to the side like my leg was broken..." 😂
YEAH!!! 🎉🎊🥳💐👏
Hey there gorgeous! So good to see you again!❤
So glad you’re uploading here again ♥️
This was released the year I graduated high school (1990) and it was everywhere. Everyone loved it.
You have to forgive the lyrics b/c this was 1990 but this song was big and got everyone out on the dance floor.
Forgive what?
Lyrics were tight.
No forgiveness needed.
@@bbb462cid that the song didn't age well
@@triangulatetruth8251 so somebody is owed an apology because you have opinions? Or because the calendar changed? Fuck no.
I was 10 years old when Humpty dance came out😊
We had so much variety of great music back in the day. I missed those days sometimes.
Shock G aka (Humpty Hump) was always amazing and full of energy! Also, Tu-Pac got his start with Digital Underground. Notice there was no racism either, the DJ was a white guy. We need to bring back the 90s so badly in this country.
Great Reaction. Keep up the great work!
Such a great group! No Nose Job has a great message ❤
Damn girl, you are back with a vengeance. Keep it up.
Good to see you back in my feed, girl! I go way back with you, but I haven't seen you in a long time. I'm subbed to this channel now.
I'm glad you are back.
I’m amazed how people never heard this before. I thought this is so iconic and big that it traveled across generations with no problem.
Though each song no matter how big, everyone hasn’t heard it.
Shock-G was a legend
man i remember when this song came out when i was kid living in New Orleans, La. good times back then
Good catch
This reaction had me laughing so much all my coworkers were staring at me 😂
Sometimes when I enter a room full of people, I still say, " Alright, stop what your dooin, ' cause I'm about to ruin the image and the style that your used to."
Classic...old school
It's good to see you again on here.
A BIG.YES, to the special folks!!!
RIP to Shock G. 🙏🙏🙏
missed you, was a big fan back in the day
Shock G / RIP April 22, 2021 Gregory Jacobs
This was my 7th grade theme song. Jamming it on the boombox all day long!
Damn that took me back!🤣😂...Tupac was with Digital Underground...he was one of the dancers in this video....classic!
This was a big banger at party's back in the day
Tupac's first appearance in a video as a background dancer
The group that Tupac is from.❤
Digital Underground have an Amazing catalog...
"This is different...This is different". For contrast, next you should check out "Same Song"
I haven’t seen you in a while! You look beautiful!☮💜
So - the hilarious thing is that without his goofy glasses and fake nose, he was freakin supermodel handsome. I think he said that he loved kinda goofy music but he was so good looking that women booed him for not singing R&B romance and dudes just hated to be compared to him, so he created this character. But google his photo. You will be shocked.
This was when hip hop was fun and not what it became
Digital underground was the starting point for Tupac career
Haven't seen that pickle in decades! Dis guy n Slick Rick were a blast back inna day.
So Happy she's back
Gen Xer here! The 80s had the best movies and music and was really fun!
Goin’ on forty years now I can’t look at a bottle of Hennessy or a Burger King bathroom without thinking of this song
This was when we all had no problems like today and it's sad that he passed.
When this song came out, it was long before its time! What's amazing to me is that it only has 54 million views... and Shock G was a pioneer!
This was always my go to for Karaoke.
That and Summertime by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince (Will Smith).
Good times 😁
Classic
How all you young people not hear this song?? It was a fun song, and we could laugh at ourselves back then.🤣🤣 90s were a great time
