Captain Sandy brings 163-foot motor yacht “Home” to the pristine waters of Malta, one of the smallest and most historic archipelagos in the world. Different than previous charter seasons, Sandy is working with a complex hybrid vessel making it more unpredictable to navigate. To ensure smooth sailing this year, Sandy brings on a trio of new department heads, but when surprising friction in the galley intensifies between the Chief Stew and Chef, who came onto the boat as colleagues and friends, tension permeates through the entire boat. I think the issue with this season for far is the drama seems manufactured rather than natural. I love Below deck due to the effortless character development and conflict/resolve.
The galley has been poorly designed, all counter tops should all have raised edgers to prevent anything sliding off, bottles should have mouldered shaped groves so they don't move during swells..
Having been around boats my entire life i can tell you that there are boat problems more often than not. Rarely do things always run petfectly!!

No way I'd see this mess as a passenger around not want to help clean up. You're going to sea together and those of us who love Maritime history and will never get the chance to see the ocean, I think people take that for granted. You are seeing something so magnificent, a true creation of this universe and the passengers are always nasty and ungrateful.
the people that cruise like this are ultra wealthy (like 500K /week to charter). They have stopped lifting a finger years ago. They expect us pleabs to do everything lol

Exactly! But you see that’s the difference between the guests who can afford to rent these yachts and us. I always imagine being a guest on one of these vessels. I could never get over the luxury all around me.

I agree. The guests always seem so entitled and nasty nit pickers for no reason. It's as if they think money buys class and manners. It surely does not. Just watch this program and you'll see I'm right.

Would running a seakeeper along side fin stabilizers prevent this? You'd think a boat of this proportion would have some redundancy factored in
You’d think. But I’ve been on a billion dollar cruise ship that lost the left side stabilizer and they didn’t have a way to fix it till the boat when into dry dock.

I would think all drawers on a boat like this would have push latches to keep them closed in heavy weather/seas?
Its like the scene in mary poppins where they have to hold stuff down after their neighbor the captain shoots a canon for the time.
A show about unlikable guest and unlikable crews led by equally unlikable captains, pure genius 👌

It looks real to me. People come out of the education system, must be trained and you don't know how they will handle situations on the job. The economy is designed to create a variety of honest paying jobs so our children won't join mafias and cartels.
Typical Raygan just goes for a cigarette instead of helping the crew clean up and recover. And how many times did Captain Sandy and the deck crew have to tell her "We need toys in the water NOW!"? She's completely nonchalant and far from Bosun material.
Where was Raygan hiding ?? Heard her telling what's needs to happen but never saw her actually do anything..oh chances are smoking.. On her list turned into Sandy hope Sandy reads carefully her times sounded like she had him on 2hrs sleep 2 hrs then on deck at 7am on 6hrs of interrupted at least that's what I thought she said judging his reaction think I summed up conversation.

Sandy: If one breakdown affects the operation of the ship, especially the stabilizers, why are you "captaining" such a dangerous vessel? How does that serve the guests? It DOESN'T! They should be alerted to this idiocy beforehand or be given a refund.
This isva new state of the art design maiden voyage ( she mentioned that but agree should have at least told guest regarding life boats and life jackets ( I assumed off camera before leaving dock that happened)
@@debbyvibbert3177 It doesn't sound like state-of-the-art to me. It sounds like...well, let me not say what it sounds like. And if Sandy or the owner told the guests off camera about everything being on one system and the danger it could put them in, they sure didn't act like they knew what was happening. I think it's incredibly irresponsible, and I'd be livid if I spent that kind of money and that severe listing happened because of some idiotic so-called state-of-the-art engineering. I really liked Sandy at first but she just disappoints me now. I'm done. And I doubt I'm the only one who is put off by the shit-show mishigas.
@@JuliaB1955 agree 100% but judging from Sandy's reaction doesn't seem she was aware all back up systems are on a 1 overworked relay...Who wants such a dangerous vessel. Curious if owners experienced fall out decided to rent out recoup losses without Capt knowledge. Considering her extensive background seriously doubt she'd intentionally expose crew and guests.

And let's say you're right and she didn't know beforehand, she is still lax for not having asked the question beforehand and then refusing to captain such an idiotic vessel with the "state-of-the-art" technology. We have a saying in America: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Sandy's responsible no matter how you slice it UNLESS she asked and the owner LIED to her. Which I sincerely doubt.

Boats should have knife blocks that are built into the counter for this reason, not the magnetic strips that could fall or enough turbulence to it could drop knifes
Fishing boats have tables and counters with raised edges so food stays put.

this season already is unwatchable and BD is my fav reality show even tho i only watch 3 lol. do not like the crew there is never any consistency, hannah has moved on but she made BD med. BD needs kate/hannah chiefs that are strong like they were. i want "why dont you go tell capt lee everything you would do differently" when a one-striper thinks they know better, i want attitude and sass. these chicks make me nervous in a weird way like they are too shy or just so not like american girls that i cannot relate. aesha being cheif on this boat would have been be the savin grace for this sinkin ship

Just say if Bravo is listening here, it is so hard to understand the crew and I even have closed captioning. I'm almost honestly thinking too stop watching because I can't understand them anyway. They need to talk slower and more clearly
Language is like that.. the speed you're able to take it in and the amount of time you've had learning the language are hand in hand... The way you've written your thoughts though is pretty close to perfect... you're almost there

The manufacturers make a hybrid yacht that shuts down the stabilizers when the generators over heat, sounds like a bad idea.
This show is sinking fast. They're going to have fly in ...Hannah and chef Ben.
Except they are now over 35. Doubt they want to go back to there 20s. sandy is even fast becoming uninteresting.
Can't understand what the non English crew is saying. Most Australian people if they speak slowly a d clearly it is not this bad. We need people who speak with PROPER DICTION.
