You should get the headspace checked on the sporter type 38. Primers pushing back is a sign of excessive headspace.

I never will buy any sporterized rifle. I did get lucky twice and bought 2 type 99 naval special arisaka's that were miss labeled as a training rifle. Here's the thing. 1944 and 1945 were cast iron receivers. But 1939 to 1943 where steel. Even though only 14 thousand of navy specials were produced. I have 1 long rifle 99 special with anchor mum and numbers thatt is steel. And a 1941 naval special with anchor mum and numbers. I have fired both. And have done a tone of research. Everyone says naval specials are only cast iron. Not true. Ive only have seen 1 other for sale that is steel and was asking for $2576.00. Not too many are aware of this. And navy even had the type 02/45 arisaka that are the most rare 1s. They were 6.5x50mm. I haven't seen a single 1 for sale, but i have read about em. You have to do your own research instead of listening to people that have no idea what there talking about. Anyways good video and good topic. (Edit) forgotten weapons is really good for information. I wouldn't take advice from others unless they have proof. Alot of information is by personal experience and not facts.
