Wow! Respect! Brilliant kerfing jig; simple yet precise. Also brilliant, the tabs on the new horn that held it to the sides. The carbon fiber sandwich and the use of balsa as well. That customer must have been over the top thrilled.
I remember the first version of the video. I thought… #1 who would do that to a guitar but then thought…. Wait a minute…. I have watched MANY repair videos of old guitars being restored. #2 I thought how in the world is Doug going to fix this! Doug, you certainly didn’t disappoint! It was a great example of persevering. Sometimes you just have to try an idea and see how it works. I took away several great concept ideas. Loved the commen “the customer was ecstatic”. Somehow… I think that is probably an understatement. 😀 Thanks Doug!
That was an absolutely fantastic job you did when it was finished it looked amazing. Very well done hope you have a great Xmas and a happy new year. Really looking forward to seeing your future projects
Doug you do your work very well, so much care, and tenacity because they don't come easy. Best wishes for you and your shop for Christmas and the new year.
