As a business analyst, in the space I agree fully. The best transition you can make as a BA is to get into business and digital transformation with a specialisation in RPA and systems. The demand is insane
Most companies are NOT going to hire an Engineer (of ANY type) without a 4 year degree in CS or similar just because you completed a training (or a bootcamp for that matter). This is a FACT, not opinion. Notice he mentioned he has a 4 year degree with engineering experience? I've worked in Tech for over 20 years, my degree isn't in CS, and that was a huge problem even for positions that I was well qualified (or over qualified) for. Unfortunately, companies (especially larger ones) are still married to this archaic narrative that the degree and often the school that you got it from are important indicators of what your value to that company will be. Most companies' ATS systems (Applicant Tracking Software), are configured to bypass resumes that don't contain specific keywords related to an applicant's Education level. Most often human eyes will never even see your resume without them...And I am saying this as a person who was a hiring manager at more than one Fortune 50 company. This is also a FACT, not opinion. The rest is all opinion! LOL. I really don't like this new internet environment where people sell courses and bootcamps and not being fully transparent to people. People who land jobs without a CS degree just off of a training or bootcamp are the exception to the rule...just ask folk who work/hire at tech companies and they'll tell you the same. If there are 100 tech employees at a company, MAYBE 5 have degrees that wasn't in CS. Getting a job in Tech without a tech degree comes down to a few things: -You have unicorn level talent. -You have a great network. -You are relentless with your application hustle. I am not looking to say the training itself isn't worthwhile, but I abhor the lack of transparency to the audience. Black folk, and specifically Black men currently are having a really ROUGH TIME in the job market, especially in Tech. It is important that people in our community that have information, don't prey on the people in the community who do not. I'm not saying RPA isn't a great skill to learn, however selling the idea that just knowing RPA well will land you a job is duplicitous at best. If you are looking to get into RPA do some research first, there are free trainings on the internet. If you like it, then MAYBE go and pay for training. If you do not have a CS degree and still want to get into RPA, then change your expectations. A job shouldn't be the basket where you place all of your eggs. Take the training and CREATE A JOB from it. As a Corporate or Government Contractor or as a Consultant or as another type of business that services other Businesses (B2B). Create an app for a niche that inspires you and sell that. THIS is what the message SHOULD BE to the audience. Rant over. LOL. Good luck out there!
@@SavagesoundsincTV I got to agree with this post. Even the way he was talking about it sounded like a scam. If you're talking about something and really believe in it wholeheartedly you won't sound like you're trying to scam people but this guy 100% does 😂
@SavagesoundsincTV Man..... You are right about the unicorn talent, network, and application hustle. I dropped out of Honors College senior year pursuing a philosophy degree. Then spent 12 yrs as a UPS driver before quitting my job and going the self-taught Java Full-Stack route for 1 yr. After many projects and finally discovering Power Platform, I was able to land a RPA Engineer role and am learning Solution Architecture on the job. Heck, my CIO with 25 yrs at this company just approved our team to hire a Jr Dev, no experience needed because we will train him on the job, and I was able to refer my best friend who's been inspired to self teach, as well. Being a new day, I think you are half right with this take. And to say this guy is scamming ppl is a bit of a stretch, in my opinion. Everything I've heard here has definitely been true to my life. In my definition of RPA its simply just a robotic template or a automation template that focuses on inputting commands other than code scripts say your applying for 500 jobs a month with applications you can command RPA in a way to apply for you based on the RPA software you're using its basically Perfect for Repetitive tasks. Trying to get the 411 on the near future of RPA, from anyone in the know, in regards to rumblings that jobs will continued to be outsourced to India? I read on multiple different sites, (but was speculative in nature), that, (most), of the increased demand for RPA talent, will be, (mostly), met by the demand via outsourcing to India, and thus dry up the market in Western countries, and/or drive down the pay rate. Y'all know if this speculation is fully true? If not fully true, can anyone elaborate further?
Outsourcing RPA jobs to India can enhance global collaboration and efficiency, while there will still be plenty of exciting opportunities for skilled talent in Western countries, especially in more complex roles. The evolving nature of RPA is likely to create a dynamic job market where both outsourcing and local talent thrive together!
