i can imagine a event in-game of this, the festival starts, everything is going normal and when you notice, everyone is infected, all the infecteds have mudskipper AI and they have the same heath as etris guards, some of them ill not get infected and will try escaping or fighting back(if they are guards of the festival) a maxinum amount of 4 in the worst case will use attunement and will have a lil bit more health, the amount of players will affect the health of them or the amount
I like this concept, I actually think that this would be a cool way to introduce Lifeweaving into attunements. Like the lifeweave festival goes wrong and in a attempt to fix it the Vespirian's and Ganyemede's willingly teach the other races how to use Lifeweave and if someone doesn't use Lifeweave to help, it eventually turns into Rotweave and they become Rotted
yeah and then after making life weave a playable attunement they could introduce the rot weave they'd have established as the azure flames of lifeweave good idea ngl unfortunately we will probably never get life weave, iron singer or light keeper which is sad seeing as all those attunements could be so fun and introduce so much juicy new lore

A very interesting concept. In my opinion if some event like this would happen it would be something like: "People that escape Depths return as cursed with some chance. The curse of lifeweaving" that gives pros and cons. Different with each race.

This should change something with the mudskippers to maybe being a perfect vessel for the rot and can actually think and do things other than swing at you blindly.
they just become incredibly intelligent, Maybe even picking up the weapons of poor adventurers they swarmed and tore apart, turning them into genuine problems to deal with due to numbers, Kind of like an ape.
this is cool and all but i think the "fungel infection" should cover more of the body instead of just the head. ex. bamboos piercing through celtorn's chests, etc.(or just generally make it stand out more). Also maybe make like a stages of infection system which fits the idea of the infection spreading across the body (or would that be copying the last of us idk?). cool idea whatsoever tho

For my build concept i took inspiration from Assassin's Creed, you can either go for Light or Medium weapon, i prefered taking Light with rapier and offhand gun to fit AC Blackflag. Stats: 25 (Optional) Strength for the moves and decent talents 15 Fortitude (Required) for Warrior's Respite to escape out of combat and heal in Tacet 75/100 Agility (MUST) (depends on how much you can put) the most important of course for the parkours, stealth, talents, Tacet, and pickpocket 40 (Optional) Intelligence for the talents but it's not that much important you can invest into something else 40 (Optional) Willpower for the nice talents, also because Assassin's have a lot of sanity and Exhaustion Strike 45/75 Charisma (MUST) (enough Charisma to get Tacet and to get the nice talents and also get the legendary pickpocket talent to steal stuff) Bonus: Dimension Travel bell because it kinds of reminds me of the Animus. You can add your own things into this build, that's all the idea i have, if i get another i'll add them in. Thanks for reading this long message
Ok so a few weeks ago I remember seeing a somewhat darker part of the hive tree with some black particles emiting from it as if it was corrupted and it sparked some ideas, but what you've done with this is truely amazing.
Ideas: -Fort Merit becomes a stronghold that’s holds off the Rot with the Flamecharm users healing others while burning away the Rot, and they become either less defensive towards outsiders (because they need help holding off Rot), or more aggressive (Kill others, as they could have the Rot). -Naturalist having a use other than Acid resistance to survive the Rot -Rot being a disease (there are no illnesses in deepwoken) that will afflict your character and make them unresponsive to control -The Summer Company creating a Automatic Gun or new invention to help survive and ward off the Rot (zip line climbing tool perhaps?) -Songseeker Monks being resistant because of medical practices (monks survived the bubonic plague in real life) -King Etrea expressing some concern over the Rot (more defenses in the form of gates) -Bandits have a chance to be afflicted with Rot, and will attack Faction bases and everything not Rot -Mudskipper Variant -The Depths not being afflicted as of lore reasons -Monsters can be afflicted with Rot, making them more aggressive and attack more aggressively -Rot Attunment, obtain getting by surviving the Rot (either by a ritual or potion), then reporting the way to cure it by telling the Hive’s Leader.
I honestly really like the idea of rot being it's own mechanic. Like if there was a "corruption" percentage that'd slowly go up the more you're exposed to the rot and doesn't go down on it's own, making you do really difficult tasks to find a way to cure yourself and reset the percent back to 0%

I think for that event the main objective should be to try and survive against all the races and if you die in the world that's not the depths you start to get corrupted which would make it so the depths are a safer place to be than the world above
I feel like a REAL event happening like this one would be fitting in october and alot of fun. Something that'd impact the lore like the accidental sharko rumbling. It's looking great punchee 😁. With alot of creativity and thought arch and rag would be able to do so much with your idea!
I feel like if this does become a thing blightthorn should be obtainable via a quest in game, because I think it's cool to add just for this festival and just to liven it up more and get more players to interact in the event, if it becomes a thing. i believe whenever the song seekers say i return to the song they mean they are returning to the depths or something. this is due to the fact one dialogue from sibex states “one with the song” so it could be possible that the song seekers are looking for a bell or to awaken it but it’s just a theory

The leaders of the remaining survivors of their faction decide that they cannot stay here any longer. So, they embark on a jounrey to Layer 2, hoping to make a better place to live, than the Overworld thats been consumed by the Rot.
I feel like the rotweave would be like a corrupted resonance theres and upside and a downside to it like let’s say Felinors permanently walk fast as they are turning into a tree however they are very bad decision makers -3 charisma scaling The Caprotten if you get gripped by a player you will deal 10-25% more damage to them and if they leave you get a life back (before you grip them) however you have 25 less hp The Gandermede instantly have 75 and is instantly uncapped however you’re more susceptible to sanity The Gremrotten 10% increased ice damage however they are blinded (can be nullified with blindseer) Just some ideas I came up with
