I am 72 and I am driving manual for the past 40 years. To me manual is the best. But in this growing traffic automatic is really handy .

One of the best videos from MotoWagan.
I studied for two years before buying a new car (in March 2023 I purchased a new car). I like driving, and I use the car for long-distance only. For office, I go on a walk or cycle. My previous car was a 2010 Swift Dezire Manual Diesel (Fiat Engine). After my study, I found that very few vehicles of my choice were in the market. After a lot of test drives, I decided to buy Jeep Compass. I tested the Compass automatic and decided to go for it as my next car after some time. Then, in February 2023, I drove a Compass manual Diesel car. Oh, it was amazing, and I decided to book it immediately. I booked it and then got the manual diesel SUV in the first week of March 2023. Had I not tried the manual Compass, I would not have purchased a new car or delayed my purchase. For those who like driving and encounter less bumper-to-bumper traffic, Manual is the car for them. I drove Goa-Chennai-Kanyakumari-Trichy-Chennai-Ooty-Mysore-Chennai-Goa during my two-month vacation. The manual is the driver's car… OIIIIIIIO

Manual cars are the best and everlasting. No matter how many automatic comes manual are always the king in all roads and perfectly engages with the driver. Entire control will be in drivers hand and good understanding creates between driver and the car. Manual cars are very useful in highways and even in city roads. But if a person completely going in heavy traffic jams and his daily work is going to be in traffic conditions only means automatic is better. But if you want to drive both in city and highway means then don't have any second thought just go for manual only. Cost effective and the best in control is manual only. Manual just listens to what we say. Manuals are always the best. ❤❤❤

Nowadays people need more comfort to drive. Automatic cars are much much better than manual in this busy traffic it's better to prefer automatic

@@Myworld8354 yes correct automatic cars are more comfort to drive in busy traffic. But a person all the entire week or entire month or year not going to drive only in traffic. When it's a weekend or weekoff or some leaves if a person wishes to go for a long drive or to out of city or some tourist destinations definitely manual car only will be more comfortable as we want to drive and car should not drive us. We can just put our desired gear at any time a get a quick raise in speed or lower the speed and enjoy the driving pleasure. As this driving pleasure and satisfaction comes in manual only.

Good video. BUT. Manual drive mostly preferred by Rent a drivers as it is easy to do racing on highways. The rent drivers struggle and fed up a lot while driving Automatic during overtaking.on highways. But, nowadays big SUVs having sudden rise of speed facility with ease. Automatic is useful for family driving , city driving, relaxed driving, patience driving and new drivers.

One advantage though i see with automatics especially the ones that have more gears than manual
    Example
    Xl6 manual has 5 gears
    While XL6 TC has 6
    TC does 100kmph at 2k rpm😮
Manual does it in 3k rpm

As you mentioned automatic vs manual is absolutely true. But eletric automatic is really a true automatic experience.
Like petrol refinement and diesel like torque. Eletric drivability is way ahead in automatic.

Very simple if you are a city oriented driver and even if you love manual transmission, close your eyes and buy automatics. Nowadays we notice the sudden jump in automobile sales which leads to high traffic even in village roads. Only go for manual if your primary drive is is highway. In manual cars how sedate we drive in heavy traffic we will burn the clutch more than automatics.

    Very simple formula.
    Go for Manual:
..if you drive maximum in highways
..if you want full control of the car
.. if you are driving enthusiastic..
.. if you want less maintenance.
    Go for automatic
... If you use the car in cities for commuting to office daily with occasional highway driving
... If you can spend more for the automatics in terms of initial and total maintenance cost for the driving comfort.

    Yes Asir Sir.
Same conflict happened. I wanted to get xuv300 w4 Diesel at 11.4 On road(at that time) Wife wanted to get Altroz DCA. Enough said I guess
You know the 300Nm torque. I didn't care about touchscreen I can install it after market. But the 300Nm torque and 115hp. All 4 disc brakes, 6 gears, decent handling and excellent ride quality. I did a test drive
This is a very important video that people need to see and understand. Not many people understand.

    • @DrivingEnthusiastIN
      @DrivingEnthusiastIN 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

But the xuv300 diesel manual is too short shifting gearbox can't go 100 in 3rd gear which is a big downer for me

    • @inpursuitofhappiness366
      @inpursuitofhappiness366 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@DrivingEnthusiastIN Drag races without any traffic is for amateurs. There is no skill there. Just 0-100 timings. For that you need to go with petrol, especially NA petrols that do 100 in 2nd gear.
But in real world, the 40-100kmph in 4th gear, 60-120kmph in 5th, 80-140kmph in 6th timings. That determines how fast you can go in highways and no one can get close. For these, Petrols fail miserably unless you downshift quite a lot and you lose mileage as well

I'm a pure diesel head bro, own a ford freestyle diesel, I am in the market for upgrade
When I driven it, it needs to be upshifted too often over my FS which is the main motto of my comment.
This gearbox is shared with Thar which is fine for That but definitely not good for xuv300 is my view, even xuv700 is not such short geared

Yes.. Exactly.. A manual is a manual is a manual.. I have bought punch amt 1.5 years back... As such the engine power to weight ratio is less.. But, in an amt with its untimely shifting, I feel it more..now instead of down shifting once to increase power I sometimes down shift 2 gears.. It's a small hassle, but One that I can ignore for the sake of safety.. What I'm trying to say is Here if I had a manual, even the punch I could have made it run according to my liking.. Maybe in some places instead of downshifting twice, I just need to down shift only once...
Before punch I've had maruti omni for 20 years.. So I know the fun of driving manual....

I was fighting this inner battle of choosing whether manual or automatic for some months before choosing my car. I decided on Honda Amaze VX, but was very confused on manual or automatic CVT. I took for test drive both, CVT was smooth enough, but on other hand, this is my first car, so I thought "ooh God how will I shift gears correctly and ride and this being the first car, I hesitated. but I realized it isnt for me as the speed was very very linear and I felt like the initial pickup was missing and when you rev, it creates a noise rubber band effect they call it. So I decided on Honda Amaze VX Manual and I am very grateful that I took this choice as it is a delight to shift gears and ride now. I was missing that interest to drive in automatics, I went with manual and took it for a spin.

I do agree with the emotions of the manual car driving. But the harsh truth is the vehicle population is increasing exponentially and so is the traffic and the chaos. In Metros like chennai where I commute for my profession and drive approximately 60 to 70 km per day , wading through an automatic car saves a lot of energy and time. Like it or not automatic cars are the feature. I have moved to the AMT bandwagon for the past 8 months.

Agree manuals are very soulful when the conditions are good such as lubricants, wheel alignment and steering settings. If you are using the car in big cities then we often lose wheel alignment due to potholes and speedbreakers. Also due to dust and abuse in 1st gear the mechanicals become rough. Manuals are bliss in towns, villages and winding roads. I wish I had my Punto in Travancore but wasted much of its life in Bengaluru. Ivtec are awesome but fall short on suspension and steering. So bottoming we need a few cars to satisfy different moods

I bought a Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDi in 2003 . It was a manual but what a car. No other car can beat it. Manual is always best for driving on highways and hills.
PS: Still I own it .
