Or on a Friday morning stuck indoors surrounded with wildfire smoke. A highly useful and entertaining educational video that puts the seemingly unattainable within reach.
Well um , ya I'm glad its Friday, not only cause I can build models for the weekend, but it's my birthday, and I got kits coming today as well! Thank you uncle night shift for this upload!
Hello my friends, I hope you enjoyed this series! There are actually going to be 2 videos about the vignette because I made a small, but quite complex detail for it! The video will drop next Friday as usual :)
Hey uhh can you or do you have a video on mixing paints?.. i have this mech i built but it has seam lines everywhere so i use vellayo putty to cover the caps so i can paint over it but i cant quite get the nechs base colour..despite on the guide it has like this- 60% of paint A 30% of paint B 14% of paint C 4% of paint D As an example^ obviously the paints have proper names lol. But ive just been starting out in modelling and not being able to get the right colour of greenish gray has just destroyed my motivation lol..i could just do my own colour but i want it to be anime accurate😅
I am painting vehicles for wargaming in the North Africa theater (1:56). I am watching this at the same time and I am now weeping with Pinterest envy (literally). Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful work of art.
One of the best desert weathering 'how to's' that I've ever watched.... no scratch that - The BEST, and now I'm a subscriber !! Very best from New Zealand.
Real nice Martin. I had fun with the T-34/122 I did on my channel as well. I love desert vehicles and those dusty campaigns. Looking forward to see what’s in store for the base.😊
Another great one! While I´m just speechless of your skills, I want to make a few comments based on observations I made in North Africa including Tunisia. I went there for holidays with my 4x4 car and saw effects on it as well as on equipment left behind by oil companys, such as abandoned caterpillars and other things: 1.: Dust collects in the seamlines of vehicles very quickly, and it accumulates to a point that there is no shadow of the seamlines anymore. So if the colour of the dust is lighter than the base colour of the vehicle, it makes those seam lines look lighter. So the opposite of what we usually do with dark washes. A very light tone, sth 80% white and 20% iraqi-sand mix would fit as a wash. This happens not only in sandy desert conditions but in other very dry places too, i.e southern Hungary during summer if you drive on dusty roads for some time. 2.: Everything that is in moving motion with sand will get polished to the bare metal very quickly. This happend to the rims of my car in Tunisia. So I would think the outer surface of the tracks, a major part of their inner surface, and maybe even the road wheels of a tank. Frequent sand storms can even polish a whole vehicle. 3.: You did right in aplying rust. Rust forms from dew wich falls in the desert because of rather extreme temperature offsets. This means rust would mainly form on horizontal surfaces and barely on vertical ones.

Guitar strings make great tow cables, antennas, interior & exterior details like piping, conduit, grab handles, etc.
Was fun watching you make this one. I made the Crusader in Call of Duty II and I kept flashing back to making it while watching this series. I know this tank so well as it was my first fully normal mapped model in the game. I agree it's an awesome tank. Makes me realize I need to build this kit! Great work as usual.
Absolutely beautiful, I could watch you do your weathering techniques over and over, I learn something new in each of your videos. Thank you for all your instruction.
I would love to see you do a Panzer grey model from the early part of WWII. not a lot of people do them and I think its a niche some people could use help with in painting models.
A beautiful result Uncle! I learnt a few new tricks watching you build this one from start to finish, and can’t wait to try them on my own humble efforts. Looking forward to the next project. Cheers from Australia!
i always watch your videos to the end... i love your channel, i learn a lot of stuff that would took years to me to findout and also your comments are super funny :D
Can I be so bold as to suggest/request...may we ever see a 1/16 model? I'd love to see what you do with larger scales where even more detail can be fit in :)
Next step after this true piece of art integration of figurines, they give live to battle vehicles. Without they looked like robot, but there where peoples living inside of these monsters.
Uncle Night has said many times that figures aren't his thing, but I think he can do for figures what he does for armor. Getting skin and fabric and leather and such believable especially in smaller scales is a far greater challenge, I agree, but all it takes is practice, determination and more practice. Come on, he's doing diorama vignettes- give him some time and he'll be doing figures with believable sweat on them.
Turned out great - you're the man! 😎 I would say, that when working in smaller scales, less is more. Trying to cram all the effects used in a bigger scale build, can be a bit much.
Great build (as always) I am in the progress of building the Thunder Model Scammell Tank Transporter in full desert glory (maybe even Caunter scheme) so will be watching these videos a few times as I progress in to painting... And yes a German Panzer Grey would be a good next build
@@NightShiftScaleModels I think you got the dust damned near perfect. Getting it to look similar but not painted on with different camo colors is a bitch.
Bit random, but I have figured out why on the exhaust the middle and top metal strips are closer together and the bottom and middle. For the top and bottom strips you have put them below the guide marker, but for the middle it is above the marker. Random but it makes sense why they aren't an equal distance. Anyway good job, and have fun with the diorama.
P.s. Nice tip wiv the 'Real Dirt' Pigment work around, too.!! Sadly getting to Tunisia for a Pot of Dirt might be a little Difficult from Oz. ( even if we weren't all Locked Down. ) But Oz has Plenty of Dust n Dirt. In great variety of colour. Next Drive I'm taking Pots. ( Not Pot..!! 😜) Kim in Oz.😎
Hey man! I just discovered your channel. I used to build models when I was a kid, but never like the ones you build. You constantly talk about your lack of skill, how there are modelers out there much better than you, professionals, etc. I don't really know about any of that. I just know that the models you build completely blow away the things that I used to build when I was a kid. If my skill level is 1, yours is 10! I've been immensely enjoying your videos. However, why not build some airplane models? Some ship models? Some science fiction models? The space shuttle? That's one I spent a lot of time with when I was a kid, and it turned out looking halfway decent. The best model I ever built. Anyway, I love tanks, too. But with your skill, I'd really love to see you apply it toward some airplanes. Like one of those Corsair Navy planes with the w-shaped, foldable wings. Or a P-51 mustang. Or an F-22 raptor. Anyway. Great job modeling! Especially that easy eight Sherman tank, with the concrete reinforcement. I'd never seen anyone use techniques like that. Have a perfect day!

Really looking forward to it! Very entertaining and a great reference for my own bumbling tries ;)

Also amazing work that is a beautiful model
The New one is Jagdtiger!
@Night Shift In your patreon, Even though I am not Patreon, I can see that it is a Jagdtiger
How do you know? You should have said "I think it will be a Jagdtiger" Instead

most definitely not, even from those blurred out pictures it's obviously a T-28 from Hobby Boss!
