The milk container bottom in the refrigerator is clever. It holds small items compactly.
Only #1 and #2 plastic containers are recyclable, so I've started reusing other containers, mostly for craft supplies. I just noticed I've played this video before, because it's so useful.
What I like is that most of the projects are simple, using simple materials. No spray paint or pricey craft materials.
Thank you! I'm glad you appreciate the simplicity of the projects. When it comes to recycling, less is better. I enjoy using basic, easily accessible materials and don't dress them up further because, at the end of the day, it's meant to be eco-friendly. Avoiding spray paint and expensive craft supplies makes the projects more approachable and better for the environment! 😊

They say great minds think alike. Well, I've been repurposing in this manner for decades (I'm 67.) The money saved by not needing to buy containers for specific purposes is actually substantial.
My favorite was how you reused the black-printed craft-colored logo box. The box as it was cute. But repurposing it into decorate organizational item is awesome. Thanks for sharing.

The covers of the parmesan containers fit perfectly on the pint size canning jars. Great for summer drinks. Straws fit right in holes. Wonderful for storing baking soda and spices as they open on one end to fit measuring spoons.

Oh wow so many great ideas here. I love to reuse things when I can I hate waste. I love the idea with the sesame container. Good to know about the spray caps as they can not be recycled. hey..loved many of ur tips..i liked the cardboard box extension ,made a organiser for wooden spatulas..which is needed for me in my draw,as i have many wooden and other kitchen tools messed up..even outlet cover idea was also good n safe for kids

Very good ideas, thank you for sharing them! I use an old parmesan sprinkle bottle for my mini hot glue sticks dispenser! They fit perfectly. Also, LOVED the little wipes containers!! Very smart!

Hi, i am Italian and very old recycler, May I suggest to cut the name of the product from the original container and glue It on the new and pretty One, I have made many mistakes owing to beautiful

mix coconut oil with baking soda to remove labels...from glass containers....

@@AmyGood IF it is possible then you can put the jar/ vessel in the dishwasher. The hot water reduces the stickiness of the glue( didn't know how else to explain it) so the label comes off easily

I'm not saying we shouldn't recycle and reuse where we can, but the ideas have to be practicable. No use using flimsy meat or fruit trays that won't stand the test of time. And I would always find some way of binding cut edges and fancying containers up with paint or unwanted paper and fabric. And there's only so much storage you need. I'm 71 and have always reused cardboard boxes, sturdy plastic boxes, fancy gift bags and all manner of things. The rest goes in the recycling bins and the nice bin men come and take it away for me.

I dont have a glue gun. Shame the ideas require something else ie, a tool i dont have.
Plastic dont last verying long plus considering there are different types I wouldnt use them for long term, tbh what comes in glass containers are the only items I find worth repurposing and worthwhile. Anyways its a channel to give off ideas the point is to reuse what you have, if you cant then recycle it

@@luciarichardson5076you can use Elmer’s glue for the cardboard ideas! Or double stick tape. You can even make glue by dissolving styrofoam in high-acetone nail polish remover or orange oil (which you can make using orange peels). I’ve heard that batches will dry out after a few days, but apparently you can melt it. I’ve never made it before though so idk. For the plastic ones, you can use Elmer’s if you rough up both surfaces with a nail file first (though I wouldn’t use it for weight-bearing projects). Or you can buy one of those specialty glues that binds anything with anything (like e-600). One tube will last a lifetime. Or you can buy a hot glue gun + glue at second hand craft stores. I know Make n Mend sells them online for like $4. Hope this helps!
A bottle that produces a fine mist, such as an eyeglass cleaner bottle, can be refilled with water and a ew drops of vanilla extract for a safe and cheap bathroom air freshener.

@@AmyGood It is so very easy to make your own yoghurt. I really encourage you to do it. It tastes so good. Store bought is black and white while home made yoghurt is technicolour.

@@AmyGood I just warm milk. It should not be hot. If you put a finger in it you should just feel a comfortable warmth . Then I add a teaspoon of yoghurt which is the starter. I stir the milk and place it in a warm covered place for a few hours. Voilà you have fresh homemade yoghurt.

when you say covers, are you referring to the ones mentioned at the end of the video? They're actually the covers for wet wipes at 6:59. With small children, wet wipes are a daycare essential, so I always have plenty at home!

@@AmyGood j'ai utilisé une petite boîte avec des crevettes, du poissonnier, bien lavée, couper le couvercle et je peux rager les petits fouillis du tiroir de cuisine. Élastiques, pinces pour fermer les sachets, bouchons etc.. Une petite idée. Merci à vous

If they made the white tofu tubs and the black microwave dishes in clear plastic, they would be commercially recyclable. Billions of those black dishes are produced.

After cutting the top of the milk and vinegar bottles, sand the edges or even place a slightly warm iron on it. The sharp edges will be smoothed out and prevent injuries.

@AmyGood I sometimes use a hair straightener at a very low heat setting to smooth out the jagged edges of plastic.
i reuse the soybean and wipes covers, i put paper soap, hair small item like hair bands and even my daily cards.

I also like recycling and absolutely admiring the effort, but what happens with this newly created containers, these reused things? Aren’t they junk that we save (probably we shouldn’t even buy them or somehow the industry should also be more sensitive on packaging) then becomes clutter and then we declutter them and they still end up in our selective bins?

Don’t use arm and hammer. Instead use Bob’s Redmill brand, which is clean unlike Arm and Hammer which has aluminum.

I like the idea of repurposing plastic containers, but I have a deep aversion to cardboard. Insects love to eat it, and it's very flimsy. I just can't get myself to keep it in the house.

아니면 더 간단하게 전자레인지를 사용할 수도 있습니다. 하지만 전자레인지는 고르지 않게 가열되므로 조심해야 합니다.

Hey Fateme! Are you referring to the cord covers? Yeah, I always thought small yogurt cups were quite annoying because they take up a lot of real estate in the fridge. Hanging them from the fridge ceiling makes them much more accessible and frees up a ton of valuable space!
