Static Fire Test | Vikram-1 Stage-2 | Kalam-250

Named after Indian scientist and former President APJ Abdul Kalam, 'Kalam-250', the second stage of our Orbital vehicle Vikram-1, has completed a successful static test at ISRO's propulsion test facility at Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. The stage has an action time of 85 seconds.
State-of-the-art technologies such as ultralight carbon composite case,, lighter EPDM-based thermal protection system, electro-mechanical actuators, and flex nozzle have been validated through the successful static test, proving very high reliability of the stage.
A good match of test results with our design predictions has been obtained. This is yet the largest rocket stage ever designed and manufactured completely in the Indian private sector.
