Seeing my cousin Jim do this on an a.c. when i was about 12 years old cemented my decision to work in metal, you sir are a master and at 40 i am nowhere near your caliber. However time and pressure make diamonds. Someday i'll be there. Thanks for sharing your talent, i have no idea why you don't have a million subs, maybe it's too hard for the so called craftsmen of TH-cam!!

Wow , looks amazing couldn't tell the difference from factory. I definitely can't do that as well as you can even if i understand how the tools work that must take a lot of time. Almost like an art. Would be nice to give it a try sometime just to get a feel for it. More into the mechanics side then the autobody but i like experiencing a little of both. Thats why i am studying on the english wheel ,planishing machine ,stretcher/shinkers ,..and many other sheet metal forming machines.
The question asked about spot welding aluminium is pertinent, the only way that I know of doing it is to put either side of the pieces of aluminium two strips of sheet steel between the electrodes. Can't guarantee the method but it's worth a try.
Brian you should put a steering wheel on that beadroller.... it will make your life alot easier.... since you won't have to hunt for that handle.... my old pexto is the same way.
Great example of craftsmanship. I just have to ask though, how many times have you face planted into the English Wheel? lol. If that was me I'd have broken my nose at least three times.
I never wanted to do stuff like this. But when you have a car that you bring to a car show and out of 600 cars, you still have the only one of its kind, there's no finding any parts anywhere. So I had to. And if there were videos like this to watch, I would have done a better job.

Or maybe you had an original car just to measure it. I would also like to start such a fantastic project but rather something more simply at the beginning.
Hi Brian nice work not sure sure why you aneald the whole door skin after you wheeled it up did you wheel it again to re work harden it because if you didn't it will crack at some point.
because I had a lot of work to do to the top part of the skin, in order to make it flow from front to back, and then fit the top chrome mould as well :-)
how good are these new sheet metal steel in resisting rusting compared to that used in the originals. body rust was horrible in the 1970 and 1980 years in cold areas using salt in winter. now rust proofing services like ziebart are extinct.
My husband says he used the same tools here in Kenya ! The exact the way he was so happy to see this ! Great video

Val Ori . It's a Jenny machine not a bead roller. They are two different machines.
A steering wheel would make it easier to use which was my main point.

How do you determine or find the exact right angles? All on feeling or did you create some kind of mall? Hoe long did it take to finish the door?

drawing came from the factory, but if you have access to a car you can simply scan it and work from there..

Hi Brian. Are you using aluminium for the door skin? If so , what type of spot welder are you using ?
Its a very old 30 KVA Machine setup to spot weld alluminium and anneal the weld nugget at the same time.
