I have re-built two 8ft pool tables, and the slabs did not have holes in the middle (i.e the playing surface) as the one in your video did. I would be concerned that filling the holes with wax would not be a hard enough surface. If a ball is placed on the table hard, I would think the wax could be left with a dent, requiring the re-do. I'd like to know your thoughts & experience.
I've been told to keep your room cool and under 70 degrees. Beeswax is an easier way of doing it but doesn't last as long. Bondo is a better, more permanent solution.

Beeswax in not available in our area. Can I use paraffin wax/ candles instead?

You should not use bondo on a pool table.
@@txtrooper What's that other stuff I see people use besides beeswax? It looks like some sort of putty spackle. Comes in a tube.
Rock hard putty was the standard gap filling compound used for decades. I'd use that for the bolt holes, and beeswax on the joint
