    Well explained Ben!
    You made it very simple, yet very helpful.
    Making a similar type of video about NGL recovery process will be appreciated.
    Keep it up!

    thanks ben. it is fun. particulary in the beginning of your foaming demonstration.
    can you cover again foaming in the amime regenerator? i think it will be different topic with this topic (foaming in absorber)

    Amazing video.
    But it didnt mention hydraulic imbalance between gas and amine flows, fluctuating feed gas flow as a root cause of contactor foaming.
    Also one of the main symptomps that I have seen is the erratic fkash tank pressure.
    Nice video guys.

    Ben, good explanation unfortunately i haven't work in Amin unit but Iam working in merox unit to produce jet fuel we are using Air and caustic in our process to remove TAN but sometime foam is forming still i dont know source of this foam how it is formed regarding to your tutorial video u mention it is because of some contaminates so plz can u specify contaminates compositions to be more clear to me

    What about "Charcoal filters Residence Time", "carbon type", "the service lifetime and The saturation degree of the activated carbon, are they named as "key factors"? . Another factor, is the Presence of hydrocarbon product could be related to the use of diesel-based antifoam agent

    There is continuouse fluctuation in amine flash drum and amine regenerator column .all parameters have been checked,there is no foaming.please guide me what will be the problem.thanx

      sounds like a flow control/level control problem to me Raheem. Individually switch flow controllers to manual and observe if the problem stops. Flow control issues are often brought about by a "confused" level controller. This happens if a layer of hydrocarbons or foam is floating on top of amine in an vessel and the LIC cannot determine the actual level.

    Really great video, thanks for such great content.
    Can you please elaborate, how exactly foaming causes offspec gas? What difference it is making to make it to offspec?

    • @MS-be9wv
      @MS-be9wv ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Foam makes the contact between the gas and amine hard to occur, so the amine will not absorb the CO2 or H2S from the upward gas through the tower, so the gas will be off spec

    Please I need your help. I work in a refinery and our Gas con unit has LPG amine absorber and the LPG is all liquid. Won't there be forming or how does these design works

    Thanks a lot Ben, what's your idea on optimizing the anti foam consumption, it is said that overdosing anti foam will make foaming how far is it true, how I can know that I overdose and how I can remove anti foam from the system? Is it true that continuous small amount injection of anti foam will be ok? Instead of injecting anti foam I should look for the cause of foaming right? Can I say not having foaming is the target.

    • @benspooner8690
      @benspooner8690 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These are all topics we hope to cover in future videos! Because there is no clear-cut answer to any of these questions. Some antifoams make foaming worse if overdosed, some don't. There can also certainly be negative side effects to continuous antifoam injection, but what those effects will be depends on the design and operation of the rest of the system. Thank you for bringing these questions up, and stay tuned to our youtube channel I promise we will get to them!

    Hi Ben, in our stripping tower we have a huge problem due to flooding and this issue starts sometimes in the middle or in the bottom, what could be the root cause of this? In addition, the amine looks very well (clear and a very pale green) inside the tower's bottom. However, we took a sample from the reboiler feed ( is a once-through reboiler) and in that point the amine looks green cloudy.

      Is the reflux flow rate from stripper reflux drum is optimum? It is mainly water, and could cause a lot of steam vaporising in case of excessive reflux flow rate
