    You can’t just say your experience in middle east and you’re living in uae , uae is a country in middle east its not a whole region. When you say lgbt in middle east its sounds like hell. Like all issues in the world there is always exceptions. Lgbt in countries like lebanon and Tunisia is so much better than any other country in mena region. Especially in beirut you cant beat the gay sence there. There is clubs and bars for lgbtq community and almost all caffes there is friendly gay. So YOUR EXPERIENCE IS IN UAE NOT IN THE MIDDLE EAST

      Thank you for this comment! You’re right, I shouldn’t have made a blanket statement in the title. While I specified in the video about the UAE, I didn’t think about the error in the title. In the future, I will be more careful and do some research before creating titles. When I get home, I will use my laptop to edit the title of this video. Thank you again for educating me on the exceptions in the Middle East and I’ll try my best to be better in the future!

    I work with a trans woman in Dubai and it’s shit how she’s basically forced to present masculine at work for fear of her job/safety

      I can't imagine how hard that is for her, I am so sorry. Having a good support system like yourself using her pronouns and name correctly in safe and private environments must mean a lot to her. Thank you for being a good ally, it really goes a long way

    I was wondering if a gay visitor visit to Abu Dhabi, there is no showing public affection or anything just he wearing make up having nails, will there be a problem?

      @charlieo897  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would be very cautious with all outward representations of queerness to be honest. Even though make up and nails aren’t explicitly a “gay” thing, the country is very conservative and there would be a large risk

      Can a person in the same sex be in a relationship in the country ?

      @@DemetrioTH-cam it is unfortunately still illegal to be in a same sex relationship in Dubai. It is a punishable offence so it would be a big risk if it were to be found out

      @@charlieo897 thank you! This really helps a lot and I feel bad for the people in there sadly. Is it true that the UAE spy’s on its people?

    Fact check- UAE is the most tolerant countries in the gulf and MENA. There’s a public GAY scene in uae, you can see drag queens in JBR. There’s no death penalty for being gay in UAE. Stop spreading lies when you didn’t talk to a local. You should probably stop saying LGBT in the Middle East because that’s a western term that doesn’t reflect same sex attraction in MENA. We definitely have way too go but we’re definitely not genocidal heck the pride flag is flying in AD
