- Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the world's longest-reigning monarch, has died after 70 years on the throne, the palace says.
The king, 88, was widely revered in Thailand. He was seen as a stabilising figure in a country hit by cycles of political turmoil and multiple coups.
He had been in poor health in recent years and made few public appearances. The king's death comes as Thailand remains under military rule following a coup in 2014.

To all Thais, I as a Singaporean and neighbour grieve together with you. I just went to Thailand 2 months ago to meet my Thai friends. Really glad to have Thailand as our neighbour. We feel your loss and pain and hope your country can pull through these difficult times. The western media will take any chance to bring out the negative sides of anything Asian, same as what happened when our founding father Lee Kuan Yew died last year. Same like how they said Lee was an authoritarian leader, they will put any negative things about Thai Royal Family having strict rules on the people about insulting the royal family. We are not from the west. We are Asians and we have our own rules. They never respect Asians for that. So do not get offended by how the news portray your king. Just know that you have neighbours from neighbouring Asian countries mourning together with you.
My english skill is bad but I've to told you that we Thai people deeply appreciate for your concern our country crisis and consequence form our beloved king passing away. Although we're grieving form losing HM the king who grant us the love like father love his heir, we still glad that our neighbours also understand us and stand by our side.

The King dedicated his life for 70 years for his people and this has been proved. That's why Thai people love him. We arent forced to love him but we love him because what he has done for us.

My mother is from Thailand- I've been there 6 times. The Royal Family, especially the King, is very highly regarded. You'll see his picture in almost every public location either as a calendar or simple poster. He was a very good man.
Met some of my Thai friends after the King passed away, the sadness was in the air. RIP, now I hope that Thailand won't break out in war and trouble. King Bhumibol was the only man who was able to maintain Thailand prosperous and under control.

Poor, poor king of Thailand. It was like God's substitute in Thailand. He was born in 1928 or 1927. He became a king for 70 years or 7 decades. Even if I do not live or not a native Thai, I respect it as an 11 year old boy. Imagine that Thailand's Royal King suddenly disappears. It would be very tragic. But he suceeded his mission that God gave to him. By loving his fellow Thai people. So I hope that we dont lose Duterte, coz we'd also lose hopeness, bravery, and most of all, respectfulness.
