I wish they would bring these games back and playable on the switch. I got Day of Reckoning 2 for Christmas the year it came out. i believe it came out fall of that year and begged my mom for it. Played it all night and the entire christmas break. You just brought back many childhood memories as a young wrestling fan.
DOR 1 has a much better story, but the mechanics on DOR2 have been upgraded from the previous year. My friends and I have played this since middle school. We still turn it on and do a fatal 4 way when we’re all together. Definitely got some content if you do both story modes (DOR1&2) and play some matches on DOR2
Not gon lie, this is when gaming was hella fun. Day of Reckoning 1&2, NBA Street v2, NFL street 2, Def Jam FFNY, RE4. GameCube had some big bangers fam. And I still have one til this day.

The craziest part is the graphics jump from Day of Reckoning 1 to 2 was insane too. I remember being a kid and thinking that was some of the best graphics I've seen in my life.

I just finished up DoR & DoR2 over the last couple of weeks. It blows my mind how the GameCube games are rarely mentioned with HCTP, No Mercy, SVR 07 etc. The games are good and this story mode is the only one we've seen have continuation between games.
Yuke's main Yokohama team worked on the main Smackdown series. Their Osaka team worked on the WWE Gamecube games and the UFC games and Wrestle Kingdom 1 & 2. I think Osaka was way better at gameplay, but Yokohama had all the pretty features. I was hoping AEW Fight Forever would marry both concepts together, but it falls short so far. It's live service, I hope they can turn it around.
Play that damn story mode man. The story mode on this game and Day of Reckoning 2 are both great.

DoR Smackdown story mode was random asl. It was based on the Raw story.
@@TruthTellerTV lol the first one wasn’t random, the 2nd one was random because it was based solely on the idea that U picked the Raw route. Personally I liked the idea of joining Evolution more than the Undertaker’s weak stable(even tho Taker was my favorite wrestler) anyway so I didn’t care as a kid lol.

Yeah the graphics on SD games got worse after HCTP while the graphic on the gamecube series got better each year

@@starshipfame1 yeah they definitely peaked with SVR2007 maybe it’s cause that year they decided to only work on a 360 version. i own every SVR till 2011 and haven’t gone back to play any of um

I remember playing this and Day of Reckoning 2 with my sister and we would always have intense matches every time. The story modes for both games were great too!

A couple guys from those games worked on DOR.
It's a shame these mechanics weren't there for Wrestlemania 18 and 19 on Gamecube. I still loved those but DOR 1 & 2 were such massive improvements imo.

AKI's Def Jam Vendetta had the first 3D crowd in a wrestling game, DOR 2 had the first in WWE game and the turn to follow the wrestler as they walk to the ring.
The triple threat and fatal 4’s used to be flames in this game . You could dead stop someone finisher .
I've said before that Day of Reckoning in my opinion has THE best cut scene beatdowns in any wrestling game. Oh and I haven't started the video yet but be careful about hitting the refs in this game because they get really aggressive and will beat the crap out of you.

I had this for the Gamecube. Day of Reckoning was one of my favorite wrestling games of all time. it had a uniqueness to it in terms of finisher and making your own character. That game introduce me to a few bands like Breaking Benjamin.

Yeah, this was one of my favorites. I played this so much on GameCube. But I am going to say watching you play it and going through the character selection they did Kurt angle Dirty gave Triple H a nine in strength and Kurt a 7.5 is just criminal 😂

Wrestlemania X8, Wrestlemania XIX, Day Of Reckoning and Day Of Reckoning 2 will always be beloved parts of my teenage years and my all time favourite wrestling video games. Later, i got SVR 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 on the PSP, SmackDown: Here Comes The Pain on the PS2 and TNA Impact on Wii but to me, nothing will EVER beat the GameCube WWE games!

I miss Yukes and Jakks Pacific making WWE games. They focused on the little details that mean a lot to people like me. Used to stay up all night with the boys playing wrestling games. Can’t do it nowadays.
AEW Fight Forever plays A LOT like Day of Reckoning. Tons of little gameplay secrets and details.
