spent 14hrs on this before pf can clear it :') the dps check is very strict, the difficulty part of this fight isnt the earlier transitions, its the last phase to enrage where everybody has to avoid the cycles and the heads
I like this style of videos allot more then the guides. The guides I feel are nice but too fast for me so I have to constantly rewind. Seeing the whole fight played out like this while seeing mechanics line up is allot clearer too me. Thanks haps
Tips for the fight from someone who has cleared on mt war and whm(paired with sch). Tanks should double cd all busters with a cd+aux cd. Low-rampart/dark mind, High-vengance/sentinel/nebula/shadow wall, Aux-raw intuition, sheltron, heart of stone, blackest knight. Theres generally long downtimes before the busters and 2 of them do come up during tank burst combos (IR/Deli/Reqi/Gnash) so learn the timing and prepop cds so you arent found lacking while double weaving a burst combo. When you move for the first red tether hand to the opposite side stand there a moment to bait the guilletine, afterwards you can reposition after slicer or cleaver whichever you feel safer. Whichever tank has the next flare to pop should shirk the other as you keep boss centred. Alternate reprisal for each Entrophy and Quietus along with a Shake It Off/Divine Veil/Dark Missionary/Heart of Light for the right when the first double flare is about to go off and it also helps for the stack soak, repeat alternate raid guards for Quietus stacks 4 and 5 hits. To easily dodge the N-S gremlins from guilletine step just inside the boss hitbox. Mt can turn the boss E-W on pull when the stack is going off to bait a guill not in line with party to get a little more opener rdps from peeps. Healer wise you can heal most of the fight through ogcds so get a good idea of when damage goes off and what amount it hits for. Spread non crit shields on opener were healed with an assize and then the dmg from fire spread was just asylum ticks. Whm wise spell step unless you need to move to somewhere fast (IE first flare and moving in for stack). Use Afflatus raptures to aoe heal while moving, Afflatus solace for single heal, refresh dot if under 5secs left, otherwise toss a regen on mt. All healer wise: midigate flare>stack>flare (had group doing 5 man stacks cause people dont want to stack. Pls stack) hard (ast bubble, whm temperance, sch sacred. Shield the fire flare after the Entrophy, 2nd set you have plenty of time so dont panic shield or you may not be able to overwrite in time for the dmg. Peoppr in flares should pop sprint/gapcloser back and heal all for stack. For preys+puddles you can have each healer choose one dps (essential dig, tetra/aff solace/excog). Now for the worst part: cycle of chaos. Whomsoever are the poor souls in the E/W parts of your cleaver positions, one will have a gremlin spawn moving towards then right in their face. Soak it and stay inside and close. 1 tick isnt lethal and you can preheal/second wind it so cleaver wont kill. This is your easiest bet before ever messing with dodging into gremlin for 4 ticks or clipping another with cleaver. Spam shield for all Quietus and cycle raid guard midigations (temperance/bubble/fey illum-seraph) for stacks 4-5. After 5 hits just dps as healing wont matter to an enrage. Also please just melee lb3 right when its up so you can get an lb2 before enrage. Pot times are kinda meh atm but triple pot until you kill faster than your 3rd pot refreshes then do opener and 6min pot for max raid buffs. Anyone have questions leave them below, hope for smooth clears, and can provide a macro for positions and cycles reminder if requested.
We actually don’t move the boss after the first hand until the Flares go off. We have the dps flare stacked with the boss and the tank and healer flares run away to the opposite north/south corners
The responsibility/pressure on the healers on this fight is greatly understated... or not even mentioned. Not only does these flare markers cause panic in the moving for the mechanic, but it also throws off when the healers should be healing.
Cycle of retribution is easy while cycle of chaos is shit for melee players. The space to avoid the voidsent is so small and you'd surely eat 1 or 2 stacks of debuff.
Alright, so im not sure if this is where anybody else went on first thought process when he said "your gonna have a bad time", but, for us Southpark Fans..' If you Pizza instead of French Fry, you're gonna have a bad tiiime' Cheers I really enjoy the direction you went in pausing in between mechanics. No excuses now, play like a champion!
Hey Mr happy. Big fan. Love your content. A little bit of constructive criticism. Dude, your cat. We get it, you got a cat. We don't here him at all when you say he's "interrupting". On State of the realm when you do it it is obnoxious. Love your cat though :) awesome name.
Man I'm not even gonna touch the savage version.. I can't take toxic people who get mad for mistakes. Plus I use ps4 so talking in chat is difficult. Shame I can't dye the first version of the armor.
Michael Russell you can always leave. There are good PF groups, it just takes patience, and as long as you do your part you will get a clear. That being said if you aren’t patient you will have a bad time.
I hate it when ppl use the excuse "I'm on PS4" Not to be rude, but PS4 has USB slots which means you can get a USB keyboard. both wired and wireless will work. If you want, you can get a gaming mouse and keyboard for your PS4 to play ff14.
I hate that you have to make some kind of disclaimer that THIS MAY NOT BE OPTIMAL YOU MIGHT FIND A BETTER STRATEGY just to divert the criticism from idiots watching this guide.
i actually like how this guide turned out. i like the freezes and the details put into each mechanic. preciate it
great vid happy, about to attempt it tomorrow. congrats on your clear. We blessed to have you in the FFXIV community

so gruop stacks with dps flare on boss for uptime?
@@VampireNoblesse yes. You could have the DPS and tank swapped if the ranged DPS gets it but that requires more coordination

Honestly most fights are insanely rough on healers and people don't give them credit.
I can confirm this boss is a nightmare in pug, especially after the double flares part . Finally cleared it this afternoon. I'm exausted :D
Not going to lie, I actually prefer this format compared to jump cuts. Nice to see the progression of the fight.
great video! God I'm so scared of trying this ^^'
Why do I like these walkthroughs more than a regular guide?
Someone :"With the healer changes I hope that there will be more healing needed in ShB savage raids"
Yoshi-P : Try healing E2s...bitch.
I actually appreciate you going into detail, ty
