    Love the brakes how they look. I haven’t owned them yet but looking forward to. I wished they had two or four piston fixed caliper for the rear also. I trailer a lot with my vehicle and the rear brakes do a lot of work too, my rear brakes were hotter than the front when added weight on the hitch.

    Powerbrake is a brand that's been pretty well known in South Africa, I fitted the OEM front brake replacement impressed with it.

    I fitted Power Brake to my Prado J150 when replacing the brake rotors. I'm very happy with the drop in solution. Note: they have various options available, make sure what it is you need / want.

      Yeah I may do the smaller kit on the Fj, and the new build will be the big boy kit. We will see though!

    Invaluable info here… especially for our rigs. I would love for my braking to feel like I was stopping a Camry with no weight in it. Not to say this would do that exactly, but dayum it would do a good job at the very least bringing it close to factory again!
    It’s a costly upgrade but so well worth it and so easily overlooked when modding. Seeing the care and concern from the manufacturer exactly is what does it for me. Thanks Tyler! 🙏🤙

      Yeah they are expensive but hugely beneficial. And longer last brakes sure would be nice! I don’t know about yours, but mine eats brakes right up!

      @@IndependenceOverland heck yeah it does… and it’s only getting worse. 😆🫤

    Would love this upgrade on my GX. If I ever need to replace a caliper I’ll convince myself it’s necessary.

      I’m not sure I could be convinced there is a better option in the planet for our heavy vehicles. These were just tool cool!

    Hated that I missed meeting you folks! So many folks to meet and see and you folks were definitely on my list, but just didn't get to. Maybe next time.
    PS. Never get rid of your FJ!!

      Yeah I hear you! It was hectic, I’m used to going and talking with vendors but not used to people wanting to talk to me! It was sun up to sun down both days for me of keeping pretty busy! Next time! And the Fj is not being sold!

    I wish these were available for 1st Gen Yotas.

    Toyota pays to use their liquid cooled brakes in Dakar! How cool is that. And in case you don’t follow Dakar, Toyota dominates many classes. They also have a more budget friendly upgrade that is just their rotor and pad. You re-use your caliper. I seriously looked at that option. Delon and Dave from Dobinson were super cool guys to talk with.

      That is pretty awesome! I want better brakes in the new build, so this looks like the answer!

    Be nice to have those for my power wagon as it weighs 9000 lbs almost with no hunting or fishing equipment

    How well do they work with the antilock system?

    • @IndependenceOverland
      @IndependenceOverland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn’t think it would be effected hardly at all, probably close to factory with a heavy truck. But I’ll find out more next time on that!

    Interesting!
    One quick question: Do I need to run spacer to upgrade these awesome calipers or just optional?

      I don’t think I have read anything about spacer requirement. Perhaps call a shop such as Juniper Overland to verify though

    Yeah, but a $3,400 price tag? I dunno man, haven't had any trouble with stock.

      How heavy is your truck? What kind of terrain are you in? What vehicle do you drive? All of these things contribute to needing a larger brake system.

  • @nottherealjk

    It makes me so sad that they make it for everything but the 100 series LC/LX.

    • @IndependenceOverland
      @IndependenceOverland  ปีที่แล้ว

      Damn that is a bummer. Do the 100 series already have large brakes, or perhaps just not a popular vehicle I wonder?

      @@IndependenceOverland They're stout from the factory for sure, but there's always room for improvement. I fitted DBA rotors with OEM pads since there's no caliper upgrade I'm aware of.
