- Four years ago, two families came together by chance through a baby boy named Kingston James Hall. CBS News' lead national correspondent David Begnaud traveled back to Lafayette, Louisiana, to find out what they've been up to.

I really think that most-if not all- hospitals do this. I live in Mphs, TN and all of them here do that. It's nice to be in one when it goes off because everyone pauses for a moment and smiles.

My military hospital announces their birth with the ringing of 4 bells on the following noon. 4 bells are traditionally used to signal the arrival and departure of the ship's captain, a flag officer, or other dignitaries.
So it will be like :

This story is a heart warmer. When I first saw him as a baby, he reminded me so much of my son, whose now 42, my firstborn. It took me all the way back, to looking at him like a miracle. It was hard to comprehend how this baby had formed, in me. I would lie next to him, gazing at him, and his little hands, for hours.
But this story also reminded me of a recent talk I had with God. I had grew up just loving everybody, that was my nature, but encountering conflicts in adult life, I told God I was tired of black and white issues, and I just wanted to love everybody, again. So this story was so very heartwarming, to see. A very beautiful story.

My child was born 3 days after my grandmother died. My mom buried her mom and then came to the hospital(still in funeral clothes) to pick up her first grandchild.

Her father was 86 when he passed away. Since people are living longer than in the past, it’s not as uncommon to have several generations alive at once (grandparents, great-grandparents).

This story reminds me of July 2, 2023, as I sat bedside with my parents while my little sister was dying. I had taken a coffee break and was headed up to my sisters room again when out of the elevator came a new mama and her precious newborn baby girl. I stopped and asked her name, congratulated the mama, and we shared a few tears.
I missed the elevator my mom took up, because I just had a feeling I was supposed to stop and take comfort in the beauty and hope of new life.
As soon as I got back up to my sister’s room, within minutes, she took her last breath. I whispered to her that there was a brand new baby girl who could use an angel, and that I would take care of sissy’s children forever.

I came across this story and what a coincidence that my children Father's name is James too who pass some time ago. He I founded out save a infant girl who was put in his backyard. It's actually selfish to force that obligation and entitled belief on a family given a new addition, because you're mourning a loss of a family member... What a generous family to actually honor such a request, not knowing the history or heart of the person who died.
She did not say name the baby after her father in the letter.She just write her fathers name in it and Kingston’s mother told his father we found a name since they had not came up with one yet.Now I do love this story but was this too much for a new mother and his father emotionally when they just had the baby .The joy ,happiness of welcoming their baby into the world and because the mother did cry after reading it was it too much,But obviously the mother and father from this letter picked this woman’s father names for his middle name so they had know issues with this,continued a relationship with this woman .
