  • Can you use ligatures in Canva? I'm pleased to let you know that, yes you can! In this video I share a quick tutorial on how to use ligatures and flourishes in Canva.
    I purchased a brand font from Creative Market and love the beautiful flourishes it comes with - but I never realised I could use the flourishes and ligatures in Canva until I discovered this tip!
    This tutorial uses Word and Canva, showing you how to use flourishes and ligatures from custom fonts inside of Canva - plus a bonus tip that saves you time if you plan on using them a lot!

    Where has this video been all my life! Last year I needed to use a font with flourishes in canva and had to use photoshop to do it. This is so much easier (and thankfully doesn’t require me paying for photoshop again). THANK YOU.

    Thank you for taking the time to show this hack, game changer indeed. When you paste in Canva will it change font size will they change with it? Thanks again

    • @fernandquill
      @fernandquill  ปีที่แล้ว

      You're very welcome, I'm glad you found it helpful. When you paste into Canva it will paste in the same size as the text in Canva, not the size in Word.

    This is so awesome! Thank you for sharing! Canva doesn't seem to allow me to copy and paste from Word while keeping the font I used. Can you advise?

      You're welcome! But sorry it's not working as it should. Can you check that you've got the right font selected in your text box in Canva before you paste?

    I was wondering how to find a font from within Canva (Malibu) and install the work to Silhouette and have it print out. When I download it the letters alot of the times are missing and I try to find the font on line to match but are unable too. The Malibu in Canva is fancy with flourishes but silhouette is basic. Please help!

      @fernandquill  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hiya Jennifer, thanks for asking. I haven't used Silhouette (I'm assuming is the design space for the cutting machine?) so I may not be able to help. Is there a way you can save your Canva designs as PNGs or SVGs and import them into Silhouette? That may be a workaround to allow you to keep the floruishes.

    Hi! I'm on a Mac and this isn't working for me. Has anyone else had to troubleshoot? TIA 🙂

    • @fernandquill
      @fernandquill  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'll help you troubleshoot, I think others will have the same question. Which parts of the tutorial are you getting stuck? Is it copying and pasting into Canva, or is it getting the characters onto word?

    • @karmicrituals
      @karmicrituals 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@fernandquill Thank you! Well I am on a Mac so I don't have Word, I've tried cutting and pasting from Text Edit and Pages and it was a no-go.

    • @fernandquill
      @fernandquill  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@karmicrituals Is there somewhere on the Mac where you can access the characters? It might be called glyphs, character map or something similar? I can look it up if you're not sure.

    • @karmicrituals
      @karmicrituals 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@fernandquill Yep, glyphs are already in place. The problem is cutting and pasting into Canva, it just doesn't do it.

    • @karmicrituals
      @karmicrituals 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think in my case I may just have to create art files of the words.

    Have you figured out a way to do this on the mobile app?

    • @fernandquill
      @fernandquill  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a really great question Kate! There's a couple of ideas off the top of my head - but I'm not sure if they'd work.
      1) Have a master page on a design in Canva that you've created beforehand on your desktop. Then selecting, copying and pasting from that design on your mobile (probably not helpful if you don't have a desktop computer though).
      2) Access your Word doc on your phone and copy/paste from that doc.
      Aside from that I'm not too sure what options there are. If I find something I'll jump back here and let you know.
