Blake is fascinated by this world, she's the bookish type, and for her she seems excited at seeing the characters from one of her favorite fairy tales. Weiss is getting more and more frustrated with every crazy being she see, tying to cope with how nothing in this world makes sense. And then there is Ruby, she was able to recover a little in this episode but she's been looking and sounding more and more depressed as the story goes on.

So sad there’s only 7 more episodes, hopefully we won’t have to wait another two years for future volumes and that they go back to longer seasons or at least longer episodes.
Y’all so much of this goes back to the fact that they’re in the staff of creation! That’s why Neo’s semblance can interact with the world so well. They fell into the void created by using the staff. Or idk…the staff is certainly involved in this. I’m not sure how the Alice-like tale ties into it all, but it’s been fun to watch so far.
Well, guess Neo's going to go full on psycho in this volume. She already hated the world and everything in it, Ruby most of all, before Cinder betrayed her (Not sure why she was dumb enough to trust Cinder in the first place) But yep, now she's really snapped, and her psychosis is bleeding out into the everafter. Actually kind of makes me think of the game The Evil Within and how normal people don't really have much power in the STEM program, but true psychopaths are actually able to attain insane levels of power and influence there. I wonder if that's sort of the same in this world, it just wasn't designed to sustain somebody as unhinged and deranged as Neo; hell its having enough trouble keeping Team RWBY in line.
3 episodes in and still no clue for hope. And once again it’s the Villians getting the power up. Things are as usual not looking good for the Light side. And we haven’t even seen Jaune journey yet, if he ever evolved his semblance then it better be something even better.
A big moment I saw in this episode is when the Red Prince had his pawns attacked Team RWBY, the Prince says "Just give up." With everything that has happened in the previous volumes, and with Ruby still not over Penny's death she fights back and says "We won't!" Like Ruby has clearly been heartbroken this volume, but she and her team will never truly give up their battle to protect Remnant. I think this scene will go a long ways to Ruby overcoming her grief and despair, and it looks like her team will be there when she needs them most.
That soldier's comment about whatever happened to the Red King makes me think that Alyx and or whoever wrote "The girl who fell through the world" might have left out some unpleasant details about Alyx's journey in the EverAfter. Perhaps to make the story more child friendly.
Don’t know if anyone has said this yet but I think the Hush that Neo has is probably something she created with her semblance because all of the clones also had one so it might not be her actual parasol just one she created.
I love Team RWBY's victory ✌ over the Red Prince; it was very satisfying to see him lose. This episode seems to imply that Team RWBY has to write their own story and do more than follow what Alex has done. I can't wait to see what happens next.
So far we've seen two people having an effect on the world around them, Ruby with her emotions and Neo seeming to have powers she didn't have before she arrived which she is drawing from the environment around her. Given a lot of the story is looking like it'll be about their journeys, I think this will be pretty significant. Also, I'm pretty sure the colours of light and darkness we see contrasted over the bridge are no coicidence. The gods probably created this world too. Since the Jaberwalker matches the dark colour scheme, I'm guessing this acre is where he comes from, possibly he was heading home after his reatreat.
I really liked how the chess like game reminded me of the chess match from Harry Potter. I also liked how the Curious Cat manage to save Team RWBY at the last moment, and Neo’s Semblance evolving makes her a greater threat than the Jabberwalker and the main villain of this volume.
I've had several thoughts. 1) In this episode, WBY is trying to demonstrate that they believe in Ruby, even if she has lost faith in herself. They do this by using Ruby's strategy fro Players and Pieces. and 2) I have a feeling that the blacksmith is going to incorporate Penny's blade into Crescent Rose. In v4, a blacksmith integrated Jaune's weapon and armor with Phyrra's accents.
I have a feeling Ruby is going to be the one to make a promise, and it will be to do with making sure nobody gets hurt, and things will go wrong somehow even if someone only gets mildly hurt and she will break because it'll be Atlas all over again. And that will drive her to some kind of change and to discard "Ruby Rose, like an old coat" and that's why the cat is looking at her significantly, saying "you know".
I'm just worried about Jaune Arc. I don't know what he's gonna do with his sword like he's gonna upgrade his blade, Penny's sword and Jaune's sword mixed together, or using his semblance to repair his blade. Oscar, Nora, Ren, Emerald, and Winter are still stranded in the desert of vacuo. After the 9th volume of RWBY, i wish it would get better in volume 10 to 12.
I think jaune aka the rusted knight will be fine, at least physically. He’s the rusted knight meaning he’s likely been there since Alyx’s time meaning he’s been fighting as the rusted knight for years long before team rwby even arrived. So physically he’s fine mentally, well I’m very worried for his mental state I honestly think he’s taken up the title of the rusted knight also known as the nameless knight because he probably doesn’t even remember who he was before he came here meaning he probably won’t remember rwby either.
@KnottyMangoGaming wait your saying that he got......maybe like amnesia? Plus, if he remembers that he killed Penny in the process, Ruby will lash out against Jaune. Just for the record, that it would like to be.....i don't know. I got nothing. But trust me, she'll be pissed against Jaune.
@@kyrorogers1395 oh yeah she’ll be pissed. I think it’s more like he arrived in ever after before Alyx came and since he was all alone and in a bad place(due to all the shot that happened in previous vol) he threw away the identity of jaune arc and became the rusted knight, but I think they’d still have the memories of their previous identity (even in flashes) however since he’s most likely been there for centuries he’s almost if not completely forgotten who he was and is now simply the rusted knight or as he’s known in other stories the nameless knight since he’s forgotten his name. I think rwby will find him recognise it’s him due to maybe having a reforged corea mors (sorry not sure how to spell it). Ruby will be snap because she’s emotional and probably thinks jaune has been there the same amount of time as they have and just decided to throw away all there memories the first chance he got. she probably calms down later and realised that he’s been there for probably centuries, hopefully a makeup arc between rwby and jaune with them trying to bring jaune back from the knight.(shit that was long, sorry my mind literally connected the dots with ep2 and 3 with the timeline and realising how long jaunes been stuck there).
@@kyrorogers1395 mentally I have no idea, however physically I think he’s still the same as in the opening with jaune and the clocks as phoenix knight said his time has stopped. So he’s been there for years while he’s stuck at the same age similar to salems immortality.
I think everyone is missing a HUGE fact if jaune is the rusted knight and this is after Alyx’s time that means he’s been here as the knight for years. The last to fall first to arrive, positive note he’d most likely be the most skilled At combat in their group since he’s been fighting for years but on a bad note his time has been stopped like in the opening he’s been stuck there as the knight for years who knows if he even remembers how he even was or who team rwby are.(pls leave thoughts)
I really hope not but knowing how bad he must have been feeling it's not a stretch to assume he could have chosen to forget his identity and just stay alone in the Ever After
If neo can make multiple clones… and turn into anyone.. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a Roman “comeback”… and see neo deal with her “I trust only myself” mentality while coping Roman’s death..
When she was young, Neo itself was an "imaginary friend" formed from Trivia's Semblance. But when her mother slapped Neo after a fire that nearly burned down their home, she seemed to lose that ability to create an independently active being. It seems the events of V8 and possibly the world of the Ever After allowed her to get it back and then some!
Man, it'd be so wacky if her semblance turns into something like the quirk that Twice from MHA has. That shit would be pretty OP. Plus it'd kind of fit since Neo sort of has multiple personalities just like Twice does, though I don't think she's quite as unhinged as he is.
My opinion on volume 9, episode 3 is that my favorite part was a reference to Coraline 2009 movie,(Ruby rose and the curious cat 🐈⬛) and the fight scene with the chess ♟️ pieces was really fun to watch and the red brat kicks Penny’s jade sword 🗡️ away !!!
The Red Prince reminded me entirely of Joffrey from GoT, especially after he started losing and his face started cracking. That in particular reminded me of the times Joffrey gets slapped by Tyrion.
I have some theory questions Is it possible that one of the clones of neo might develop the personality of her old life as trivia? Will jaune land in the same place as neo or, in the same place as the rest of team rwby or mabye in between the 2 worlds of light and dark (like some sort of limbo)?
Red and green are complementary colors (meaning they sit opposite of each other on color wheel) and are used as popular color schemes. Also when mixed together complementary colors produce greyscale colors. It's possible that the red prince sees it as threatening because green is a color that can stand up too or outdo him (you could say that he's afraid of being "washed out" or "muted") or you could take it in a more abstract way. Colors are also used to representative of emotions or traits (which each color has dozens of). For instance, red is passionate and warm but can also be dominating and aggressive, while green can be growth and harmony it can also be jealous and greedy. You could say that the color green represents everything The Red Prince lacks and therefor he despises it (you could say he's green with envy or red with rage) or that he is incomplete in someway, complementary colors are one part of pair so maybe there's something he lost or had stolen and that is why he hates the color green. But this is just my speculation and theories about it.
"Ego as big as the castle behind him." Pretty sure you mean the size of the internal square area given the fact it's a non-Euclidean space straight out of an M.C. Escher painting.
Look at Rwby volume 9 trailer 1:45 ruby's crescent rose turned into axe the blacksmith found crescent rose on beach or found by Alex and given to blacksmith its possibility ruby will notice red on the axe say my crescent rose
I'd assume episodes 4 and 5 are just as you said, Curious Cat and Rusted Knight respectively. Especially considering the page turnd in the intro seem to mirror the first 4 episodes so far.
okay, I have a crazy theory. what if the new character that we see isn't alex, but if its neo's conscience. like she has all those new bodies from her semblance, so what if a side effect of that is that an emotion or some part of her mind takes control of that body, and her conscience wants to help them out and make up for her horrible acts and deeds. anyone else agree/disagree.
Funny thing is i had a similar theory but it went a little different My theory was that maybe jaune will end up teaming with one of neo's clone that probably have the personality of neo's old life as trivia and they could work together on whatever goal they have. It could be Either to help neo, help team rwby or in trivia's case maybe help jaune so that he doesn't have to go the same route of vengeance that neo's is about to go through which will probably make him go as mad as the hatter But your theory could work too
It felt a bit strange to me, that before Ruby and her team had like no aura, got tired very quickly, and now they can use their semblance as before or in Weiss' case maybe even better. And Neo too in the end. I felt sorry for the Jabberwalker.
Do you think you could do a video that explains what the clocks behind Jaune in the intro mean? A lot of us still don't understand what it means. If they think it's because Jaune thinks he's always too late to save everyone, he wasn't too late to save Weiss in Volume 5
Everyone forgets that Alice in Wonderland had a sequel called Through the Looking Glass where there was a chess game - that any chess player will tell you is nonsensical. But that's the point; Wonderland *doesn't make sense* . Both stories are imagination and childish nonsense where reason and logic go to die. BTW, everyone also confuses the emotional Queen of Hearts with the Red Queen and assume they're the same, when they are completely different characters from Wonderland and Looking Glass respectively. And Rooster Teeth continues the confusion with the Red Prince who's mannerisms reflect the Queen of Hearts more than the Red Queen.
Now i have a theory about something.....if time seems irrelevant at the moment....what if....jaune came first and took over as the rusted knight cause what if the rusted knight retired and became the black Smith we keep seeing because red king is missing jinxy pedlar is older and how people are coming down at random(fully not confirmed) time could mean excatly what i just theorised
Is it possible the characters are currently landing in order of emotional stability? We've seen the world has a very deep tie to vivid emotions, particularly it's been interacting strongly to Ruby's depression. It would also make sense with the order we've seen: Yang/Weiss/Blake are all fairly stable, Weiss probably the least of the three currently but still definitely stable; Ruby is clearly the least stable of the core group as has been vividly illustrated this volume; Neo is definitely not stable, she's Neo, I don't think that's a controversial take; this would imply Jaune is last which would make sense since he hasn't honestly been stable since he lost Pyrrha and having to kill Penny has likely pushed him over the edge.
did anyone pause at the right moment when Weiss, Blake and Yang were shrunk to mouse size, like after Weiss shrank, it was Blake's turn, and right at that moment when you pause it, it looks like her head grew bigger, then shrank, then Yang's left arm started getting bigger, than got small.
@@OathKeeperRiku07 "Snow Angel" actually happened during the chess fight. Weiss partial-summoned her Nevermore out of its glyph and posed in front of it making it appear it had angel wings, and fired icy feathers down onto the chess pieces. Clearly a reference to "Snow Angel".
She's doing ok.....for now. Wait until she finds out what jaune did. the world is reflecting her emotions in the weather, what will happen when she finally snaps
I don't know if you already pointed this out or not, but the shadow for alyx on the vertical mural looks different from her. There are glasses and a different hair shape. I'm guessing that could be how she looks in the present day.
Red and green...reminds me of Mario and Luigi XD. Funny enough, in the game, Super Paper Mario, there are two other brothers, approximately named Red and Green that hate the colours Green and Red, respectively. So much so, that they will literally toss Luigi and Mario out of their houses should they go in and talk to them. Just something it reminded me of. Also the little prince also reminded me of Lord Farquaad in Shrek a little bit.

So sad there’s only 7 more episodes, hopefully we won’t have to wait another two years for future volumes and that they go back to longer seasons or at least longer episodes.
The look in Neo’s eyes when she showed up… hoooooo boy. She is out for blood.
Hope Ruby's silver eyes and semblance evolve too
A big moment I saw in this episode is when the Red Prince had his pawns attacked Team RWBY, the Prince says "Just give up." With everything that has happened in the previous volumes, and with Ruby still not over Penny's death she fights back and says "We won't!" Like Ruby has clearly been heartbroken this volume, but she and her team will never truly give up their battle to protect Remnant. I think this scene will go a long ways to Ruby overcoming her grief and despair, and it looks like her team will be there when she needs them most.
Gotta say, the new skills they use in the fight was hardcore.
That soldier's comment about whatever happened to the Red King makes me think that Alyx and or whoever wrote "The girl who fell through the world" might have left out some unpleasant details about Alyx's journey in the EverAfter. Perhaps to make the story more child friendly.
Possible. There are different ways to tell a story from different perspectives.
Neo and her clone troopers are terrifying (emerald would be so scared of Neapolitan right now 😨 20:07
Don’t know if anyone has said this yet but I think the Hush that Neo has is probably something she created with her semblance because all of the clones also had one so it might not be her actual parasol just one she created.
That's a great point tbh
If thats the case then that means that her actual weapon is somewhere in ever after. Wonder who will end up finding it
I love Team RWBY's victory ✌ over the Red Prince; it was very satisfying to see him lose.
They do this by using Ruby's strategy fro Players and Pieces.
and
2) I have a feeling that the blacksmith is going to incorporate Penny's blade into Crescent Rose.
@KnottyMangoGaming quick question. How old is Jaune in ever after?
@@kyrorogers1395 mentally I have no idea, however physically I think he’s still the same as in the opening with jaune and the clocks as phoenix knight said his time has stopped. So he’s been there for years while he’s stuck at the same age similar to salems immortality.
11:13 that would be mind blowing. I swear Phoenix has an IQ of 10,000
I think everyone is missing a HUGE fact if jaune is the rusted knight and this is after Alyx’s time that means he’s been here as the knight for years.
So jaune might have a similar case to what happened with samurai jack?
I really hope not but knowing how bad he must have been feeling it's not a stretch to assume he could have chosen to forget his identity and just stay alone in the Ever After
If neo can make multiple clones… and turn into anyone.. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a Roman “comeback”… and see neo deal with her “I trust only myself” mentality while coping Roman’s death..
The light warriors ruby rose and the dark warriors neopolitan
The curious cat is our spirit animal!
....Unless you are native american don't say that. That would be cultural appropriation
Could Neo's semblance has evolved like Ren's did last Vol...from making illusions to making basically shadow clones of herself and maybe others.
Neo just got a lot more scary and dangerous
22:32 Night Of The Living Neos
The red prince has early whitely energy, like whitely before he chilled out
Haha, true 😭😭😭
My opinion on volume 9, episode 3 is that my favorite part was a reference to Coraline 2009 movie,(Ruby rose and the curious cat 🐈⬛) and the fight scene with the chess ♟️ pieces was really fun to watch and the red brat kicks Penny’s jade sword 🗡️ away !!!
I can't wait to see more of the curious cat he seems cool
The Red Prince reminded me entirely of Joffrey from GoT, especially after he started losing and his face started cracking. That in particular reminded me of the times Joffrey gets slapped by Tyrion.
It’s been THREE EPISODES!!! WHERE THE FUCK IS JAUNE!!!!
I have some theory questions
Is it possible that one of the clones of neo might develop the personality of her old life as trivia?
Neo being first and controlling the jabberwalker would make sense as she might have sent it after yang leading to the events of ep1
3:46 - Now that I think about it. How would he have reacted if they gave him Yang's arm when it was disguised as a scepter?
I think it would been the same honesty.
It was actually a fun episode to watch. Not really how I expected things to go.
Funny thing is i had a similar theory but it went a little different
My theory was that maybe jaune will end up teaming with one of neo's clone that probably have the personality of neo's old life as trivia and they could work together on whatever goal they have. It could be Either to help neo, help team rwby or in trivia's case maybe help jaune so that he doesn't have to go the same route of vengeance that neo's is about to go through which will probably make him go as mad as the hatter
But your theory could work too
Other possibilities like the girl could be Penny reincarnated or Alyx's daughter, granddaughter or niece.
I loved your flare to the word...drrramatic
Same! It was very appropriate 😂😂😂
Curiouser and curiouser
It felt a bit strange to me, that before Ruby and her team had like no aura, got tired very quickly, and now they can use their semblance as before or in Weiss' case maybe even better. And Neo too in the end. I felt sorry for the Jabberwalker.
The bridge between the light and dark worlds seems to be backwards
While l but curious cat is on track to become my favorite character I thought the design of the red Prince was adorable
Do you think you could do a video that explains what the clocks behind Jaune in the intro mean? A lot of us still don't understand what it means. If they think it's because Jaune thinks he's always too late to save everyone, he wasn't too late to save Weiss in Volume 5
Hope that sword didn't ended up Chopping someone after getting kicked and I can't say I blame ruby for saying what the little guy did.
I immediately linked this episode to NGNL. It almost looked inspired by it, which I love, because that episode was so fun.
I like it, that rwby is on chrunchyroll. Because they have right from the start german sub
He was right about neo semblance in his last theory
did anyone pause at the right moment when Weiss, Blake and Yang were shrunk to mouse size, like after Weiss shrank, it was Blake's turn, and right at that moment when you pause it, it looks like her head grew bigger, then shrank, then Yang's left arm started getting bigger, than got small.
Leave it to Ever After for Weiss to make "Snow Angel" a real thing.
Sniw Angel Weiss art when?
@@OathKeeperRiku07 "Snow Angel" actually happened during the chess fight. Weiss partial-summoned her Nevermore out of its glyph and posed in front of it making it appear it had angel wings, and fired icy feathers down onto the chess pieces. Clearly a reference to "Snow Angel".
It’s Red vs Red, and Blue vs Blue
This was probably my favourite episode of the volume so far. And I think Ruby is doing better than she thinks.
(At 20:00) really I thought it was going to kill the cat.
Is nobody going to bring up that Dust is working in a place that is not Remnant.
If Neo could create a squadron of clones, then why not a weapon too?
I don't know why but the way Ruby "I heard you like games." gave me Coraline vibes.
Female Arthur embrace Excalibur.
I guess Neo can warp the world. But they still can't talk since they are part of her.
im really sad that ruby left Penny's sword in the palace courtyard. I wish she went back for it or tried harder to get it
Jaune may end up getting captured by Neo Clones and I'm ready for it
Idk if thats gonna be heaven or hell for jaune at this point
On the topic of the timeline, remember when Weiss hit herself with a rock?
Um ... you mention trust. The biggest promise that's broken now is by Jaune despite of what penny wanted.
we don't have anything of Jaune. I hope he's in the next episode or i'm going to believe that RT is going to make him in 1 episode and that's it.
Wonder if Rubys silver eyes work in the Ever After and if the Ever After changed it in any way
