just paid 6500 for mine, and 30 minutes into the break in it spun a bearing, serious rod knock, and no oil pressure. I call tomorrow to see if they'll make it right. Never made it passed 4,000 rpm on top of that.
602’s are built cheap AF. I don’t know the exact cost to build one besides the labor. Just guessing. I would think they have less than 2k worth of parts in them.
Crate racing sucks. Great idea but when you have companies like Brezenski and others OPENLY selling cheated up heads, cams, valves, showing you how to replace the seals after modifying, etc etc then that just ruins it all!! Crate engines and the dollars to cheat em up sure as hell ain’t helping local racing to grow!! We are down from 10-13 tracks 15 years ago in my area to 3!!
Not at all accusing Karl’s of cheating them up but there are plenty of companies doing it and most folks won’t protest so why even bother with a crate engine?! It was a great idea initially but no way to keep Chester’s from cheating! Be far better to have SIMILAR engine rules and tracks that will tear em down. I’ve raced for 20 years and won tons with less hp but I ONLY run open classes so I don’t have to worry bout running against cheaters
What is hp on a 604
What are those 602 like 5-9k now?

It's a ripoff now. We paid $3100 for them when they got started. Now their more than twice that. No way cost of manufacturing has gone up that much.

BlaBlaBla
"GM manufacture these engines" so if they crap out, it's GM's fault.
Fuck 'em!
