I built x6 38-foot navy boats in Asia using infusion. The hull weights were within 3% at around 690 kg, and the decks were around 530 kg. We were doing a full hull, taking 5 days to lay the dry glass fibres in and a 3-hour shoot time using Vinyl Epoxy resin.
Possibly the most informative vacuum infusion build video I have seen. Super sweet boat, so many nice design features. Answered a few of my questions regarding vacuum infusion but still got some.
Great video. can you get a bit more in depth on infusing the hull in sections, I have experimented with infusion and i would like to use the technology in building some parts infusing in sections, Cheers Bo
Interesting video I guess they taper the edges so it overlaps with the next section …wouldn’t like the wood but sounds like it’s the stronger option probably the life of the boat for the first owner anyway
I built social ski, ski race and fishing boats for 10 years. I always doubted using synthetic materials in the transom over Ply. Seems my doubts were justified. Fibreglassing really does suck badly.
Twin hull = catamaran. You may have an impression of catamarans tipped over (capsized) from ocean sailboat racing. Ocean racing monohulls have lead keels, so when terrible things happen, they sink. Catamarans don’t have lead, so when terrible things happen, they are found floating upside down the next day. Survivorship bias. We don’t see the upside-down boats that sank.

Very interesting and detailed presentation of the process. Well documented. Love seeing the VMR Shockwaves out and about!

What’s your questions I work there and could possibly be able to answer them if not will definitely find out
They know how too build a strong boat these guys
Great presentation of the build process really enjoyed it. Thank you

Absolute Dream Boat 💯
It’s amazing working for shockwave, Andrew has so much passion for boats it definitely rubs off on the crew best job best boats
I like to see a trailer boat under 3.5T. Good looking boat
These are the best cats in Australia hands down
Absolutely froth the Sea rescue shockwave, these guys make some primo boats...
Gee rough gig for the apprentice
Literally rough😮
I was reading the comments b-4 watching the video and was...concerned... Hahahaha....
Its the tucked in shirt for me😂😂
Bruce Harris + Modern technology = Andrew
Wish I could afford one.

If the penetrations are done properly it will never be an issue. It's only when someone exposes it to water does it have a chance to deteriorate.

Please excuse my ignorance, but why has this style of twin hull boat been known for tipping over thanks
Probably due to its high centre of gravity.
