I remember watching this video for the first time and feeling the need to share it to the world. Many years later it still brings so much joy... These guys here made me fall in love with music.
We are on the same page, man! I return here a lot of times and I am aways surprised with this masterpiece. I wish in the future I can play so nice so he do it.
So thankful for your post. I've listened to this recording countless times and it is by far my favorite interpretation. I love the musical conversation between Vengerov and Patkoló!!
I always find it impressive when musicians can just communicate with their eyes and head movements and stay in sync even with Vengerov's rubato. Of course, they rehearse but still cool.
Awesome interpretation! I love the look the conductor. He's like: what am I doing here? These guys dont need conducting :D I can't believe that when i was younger i thought classical musical was boring. Now i just wish i could play an instrument...
I started learning when I was 26 it's never too late obviously the earlier the better but don't think your too old .. . I'm still novice level but I really enjoy it.. go for it
I have seen and heard Czardas quite a few times. This is just exceptional, I just can't believe the basist can make this flow like this - this is amazing. However, the whole interpretation is just great! Thanks, (thanks also to YoutTube - just do not fuck up this with un-controlled commercials...) - great to get access to these real talents also online...
Wow, this is definitely the best version on TH-cam, ignoring the sound quality of the video... fast notes are much more pronounced than the others and theres no scratching... If only the recording was a bit better, then it would be perfect.
In my humble opinion, this is THE best piece for violin ever, BRAVO Mr Monti. Vengarov is the undisputed king of the fiddle... But what I love most on this is the double bass playing. WOW! Can't find the version where Max does a lot of crazy improvising at the start... Can anyone help me?
Thanks again for making this video available. I always enjoy to watch and listen to it. The facial expressions in the video so well capture the passion of the music.
I never tire of listening to this and seeing the passion of the musicians and the look on the conducter`s reaction. Thank you for keeping this wonderful video on TH-cam.
Vengerov is phenomenal as always. However, I found that I like the part of this piece that Roman Patkoló (the lead bass player of Bassiona Amorosa) played even better. This is the best variation I have ever found of this piece. I just love the sound and execution that Patkoló put into this performance. Just breath taking!
This was one of the first videos of classical music I ever saw and got me interested in it and it remains my favorite performance. Who is that bass soloist?
I'm a cellist so I'm used to hearing bassists up close. Vengerov is phenomenal, but Roman Patkolo is something else! The back and forth of this recording has made it my go to recording of this piece!
I like everything about this video, the music, choreography, the emotions shown by the players and the listeners. I touches and moves me.I can listen to it over and over. Thanks for sharing it.

The conductor's little chuckle at 2:32... Like "this shouldn't be possible!"
darylehudson so true
Amazing is all I can see
darylehudson I
I know, so funny! He's thinking, WTF, how on earth did he do that? Utterly brilliant!!
I cannot express how hard it is for the bass player to play that well....
Wow, Vengerov does a good job with this, but that bassist is by far the real star here...
Cldnt agree more😂
Not completely true
... but what is his name?
@@krumba100 roman patkolo
@@krumba100Roman Patkolo. Group name Bassiona Amorosa
It's so fun to see how impressed Vengerov is with the double bassist
The orchestra conductor is truly enjoying these two guys!

Vengerov is great... but that bassist is pretty damn impressive.
His name is Roman Patkoló
he’s amazing
For real, that is not easy, his right arm must be huge
yuge than the orange guy
I always find it impressive when musicians can just communicate with their eyes and head movements and stay in sync even with Vengerov's rubato. Of course, they rehearse but still cool.
vengerov of course is good, but that has to be the best bass performance ive ever seen. that guy is absolutely astounding
This is how you play music! You just have fun!
+Angry Face Lol that comment and your picture and username....had me laughing for a good minute =p
Adeum Deus Hey, that's my happy face. You won't believe what my real angry face looks like. :D
Which is why I love this version of Saint-Saëns' Elephants. Look at the double bassist. th-cam.com/video/jWUt2D0FkdU/w-d-xo.html
The best version of Monti's Czardas I could find on TH-cam
Exactly. Found it just now...
Awesome interpretation! I love the look the conductor. He's like: what am I doing here? These guys dont need conducting :D
I can't believe that when i was younger i thought classical musical was boring. Now i just wish i could play an instrument...
What are you doing after 10 years?
Yeah..what's been past decade? End up learning an instrument? (i really hope so)
soloists generally dont get conducted, only orchestra players do
I started learning when I was 26 it's never too late obviously the earlier the better but don't think your too old .. . I'm still novice level but I really enjoy it.. go for it
Vengerov: "Check out my amazing fast fingers!"
The other guy: "Pshh, i can do that on the bass"
And the next thing you know, someone in the audience pulls out a harmonica

Get premium u poor fuck
I first watched this when this video was uploaded. Now 10 years later I watch it again and I must say 'What a great performance!'
amazing! I love how they play one after the other and then come together at the end for the grand finale!
Best version of this musical masterpiece
😁👍
They have an incredible touch together, I love how Vengerov got a bit cheeky when he is having fun with a piece.
Gotta love Maxim here, I've heard numerous plays of this but I always love to see His impact on the music.
Much Love and appreciation !
Wow, this is definitely the best version on TH-cam, ignoring the sound quality of the video... fast notes are much more pronounced than the others and theres no scratching...
If only the recording was a bit better, then it would be perfect.
agree!!!!!!!!
That's Maxim Vengrov for you!
I tried many recordings, my favourite one is Jasmine Choi's interpretation on flute
But don't get me wrong: This one is great, they are both extraordinary musicians, it's just that I don't like the arrangement
Try Nigel Kennedy: th-cam.com/video/uEYWgepmNYM/w-d-xo.html&lc=UgwZyi4_pdjYdw1ec-x4AaABAg.8_0EuO--pEK9BM4ZT9HgLw . IMHO even better! :D
One word to describe this performance: "MESMERIZING"
Best czardas i have seen ever
Спасибо за душевные переживания и слёзы на глазах от этой вечно чарующей музыки.Браво исполнителям !Низкий поклон за видео...
Love Maxim, but if I was one of those double bass accompanists I'm pretty sure I'd hate his freakin guts ;-)
The face of PURE JOY at 4:22 made my day. It´s always a amazing feeling have the opportunity to bear witness at such great artists!
In my humble opinion, this is THE best piece for violin ever, BRAVO Mr Monti.

But what I love most on this is the double bass playing. WOW!

Every time I hear this it makes me laugh out loud. Incredible, almost super-human playing, Fantastic, just brilliant!
The contrabass guy was dope
The conductor was enjoying the Bassist, as where we all.
FANTASTIC!
The fastest play of czardas i've ever seen so far

удивительное исполнение превосходный ансамбль. заслуженно звучит в конце Браво !
when musicians know what they are doing and love what they are doing it sounds like this

I never tire of listening to this and seeing the passion of the musicians and the look on the conducter`s reaction. Thank you for keeping this wonderful video on TH-cam.
The conductor was like “fuck this shit,i'm getting out of here because i am not a musician,i'm a fucking conductor "
Whew! that was amazing!!! And that BASS soloist is amazing (despite the wacky way he holds his bow...) Magnifico!!!
I LISTEN TO THIS LIKE 10 TIMES A DAY

Excelente! Tanto el violinista Maxim Vengerov como el contrabajista Roman Patkoló.
