Rewatched your Sunshine Man review a few weeks ago and dug out my samples of it... I'm getting it for the summer this year lol. Didn't used to like it either, amazing how taste develops
Once i smelled it, i was shoched , how a fragrance Could smell like this!! But still something in my mind was telling me that i have to respect it,, i sniffed it one more time in another day,, i felt that it is really a respected fragrance, , but it was still very daring to my nose,,till one day i met a person was wearing this fragrance and i smelled it very gorgeous,, then i decided to buy it,, every time i put it i feel that it is a unique scent and very lovely, , now it is absolutely my favourite from all amouages,, thanks marc for this review
Bought a bottle of this a couple of weeks ago & its quickly become one of my most interesting scents. I can see why many find the opening challenging, although I really enjoy its boldness. The true beauty of this fragrance starts after 15-20 minutes & then takes you on an all day journey, constantly changing your thoughts on its scent. I'd say its quite important to only spray on skin, as if any molecules land on your clothes the heavy soil opening will remain but on skin it transforms beautifully. Maybe not the most wearable scent, but if you love the artistry of fragrance then this is a must try. Personally, I adore it.
Muddy I love it too. Everybody knows when it comes to winter, it's always sweet, sweet, sweet. By January, my sweet tooth has pretty much run its course. This beauty helps break up that monotony in those colder months. 5 stars! Masterpiece!
The genius of this composition is in the juxtaposition of the earthiness with the crispness/freshness. Otherwise, it would just be dark, heavy and "dead." The fresh quality brings the whole thing to life. Also - what about that bottle! It's just amazing.
@@henneyentl you are right. Everybody is different. I. Just think a lot of people are turned off to easily, because of the muddy topnote of figment and just miss out on a good fragrance. Haha. Maybe im just to much of a fan of this one. Thanks for posting. Greetz from the netherlands
Just picked up a bottle (to add to my ever-growing list from Amouage), can't wait to give it a go! It's since been discontinued and saw this for an absolute steal so had to pick it up! Amazing, detailed review as always😎
You need to revisit this and a full review of Figment! My bottle is over 5 years old, and I swear the scent of it has improved a lot with age; I think it just needed a few years for the weird goat-like animalic note to mellow out.
This is my first Amouage and I admit that the £115 Black Friday price tag from AllBeautyUK was an influencing factor. Needless to say, stunning packaging! Well, I opened and sprayed. I got the damp soil note straight away. I wanted something off the radar and it is, but boy, is this challenging and not really in a good way! For me, armed with the facts from the TH-cam Fragcom , I thought this was a safe blind buy. However, the experience is more like going into a run down area in wet, damp weather, in the dark and coming across an alley way behind poorly maintained houses. As one strolls down the very dimly lit passage, garbage and broken glass is strewn everywhere. A broken child’s bike and numerous piles of sodden clothing and discarded carpet line the edges of the walk way and seem to have absorbed the rank stench of urine and garbage. Imagine if you tripped over, face first in this place, what sort of odour would permeate your nostrils. Well, there you go. Welcome to Figment! My wife came home in the evening and didn’t comment for an hour, but as she was cooking tea (bearing in mind the olfactory overload from cooking garlic, ginger etc, she asked if I was wearing something. She says she thought that when she arrived, something smelled as if it was rotting in the corner and that I smelled like a damp carpet! I would advise that although I’m adventurous and have used Montale Aoud Noir and loads of other stuff, this migrates so far from my idea of a scent, that I cannot see the point. I blind buy and sometimes I like, sometimes it’s not to my taste, but that’s fine. This is “out of scope” in the category of wearable scents. Very disappointed, but I hope that this gives a useful perspective if looking to purchase this fragrance.
Excellent review, Marc. I've never smelled this one, but it sounds intriguing and something outside of the box to challenge my nose. Thanks for your in-depth take. I'm very curious now...
This slowly became one of my favourites from the house. The first few wearings, i just got wet earth. Once I got to know it, I get a animalistic floral masterpiece. It's a guilty pleasure
I would never wear this in a usual daily situation, it's quite challenging, much more so than Yatagan. On the other hand with some practice it could grow into an acquired taste, in the same vein that not everyone appreciates music like Autechre, Squarepusher, etc.. I could also imagine someone with a creative profession (music, writing) sniffing this for inspiration.
Yo robes, when will you"ll be coming back on TH-cam. Miss your vids. True and honoust reviews and entertaining to watch. No sign of life for such a long time. Greetings from Holland.
@@robes08 ok bud, good to hear from you. Me and a lot of other People expect New content on your channel. Wish you the best and i am hoping for a fantastic comeback. Good Luck to you
Franckinsence mixed with geranium, lavender, vetiver and some woods turns really green silver towards earthy and the put some natural like resins extracts witch turns wet soil like. In times when niche is influenced by trend designer fragrance releases, It's how niche houses should dare go.
I don’t get any green notes from figment, I get the beautiful resins in the dry down along with the labdanum. This fragrance is extremely challenging, even to my nose (I own hundreds of niche fragrances). It took me a couple months to really appreciate this creation. Figment is very animalic, but not necessarily the type of animal accords I typically go for. This is civet and lemon together. Not really a great combination upon first spray. It reminds me of cat urine. Very strong and astringent. I prefer the more fecal animalics, this has that but very little. This fragrances smells like the wet ground after a good rain. And then imagine an animal rolling around in the wet leaves all sweaty and musky
I've stayed away from Amouage after learning reforms have destroyed a couple of their better ones. I'd probably get a bottle of something right after a reform and waste my $.
Amouage reformulations are way overblown. They've gone from 11/10 performance to 10.5/11. Everyone complaining about their reformulations are the same people that look for excuses as to not owning an Amouage.
That's dumb. I tried about 15 Amouages lately, probably all new formulations, bought 2. The only one that had weak performance is Dia Man, all the others range from great to extreme.
I have this. It was a blind buy and fml. Why did I buy it. Lol. If anybody has it. The trick is use it during a hot day. 2 to 3 sprays max and it must be on skin. When it heats up it turns a bit sweet. It’s bare-able to the point where u can enjoy it.
Jup. I know what you mean. My sample is running out fast. I understand why people might hate it. But me..i like it and its so unique. Nobody in this world would wear this, even if they like it. Just a few with the courage to actualy do so

I have both, I don’t think so. Kouros is not animalic and dirty for me. It is more like a fresh barbershop scent. But the figment, LOL. More animalic than Kouros.
I think max forti said figment is another name for interlude Jr, or interlude for warm weather, I have spent some time with it thats right on the money

Fantastic. Reviewing in macrocosm. That's all we need. Can't wait for my bottle to arrive. :)
I love Lyric Man as a rose lover. Artistically Imitation Man takes you on a journey.
The only Amouage that I returned immediately after purchase. This thing is no dirt or fern or green but smells like pesticides
Dont wear this often but oh my god, figment is wonderfull. Wearing it now, spring cool weather. Cant stop smelling my wrist
Wearing this to work today and I'm enjoying it

Reminds me of Oud 27 with the wet, mouldy, rag smell. I'm suprised I actually like this lol.
What are you thoughts on Figment Man?

Yatagan by Caron done 2017?

Quite polarizing
Smells like my groins

next time i'll start rapping lol
Amouage is too hit and miss for such expensive juice. Half their bottles are hard to wear for me personally.
That’s niche for you
Totally thought you were about to rap like Mr smelly until the music cut out
It has a damp, musty basement smell. Very interesting, but totaly unwearable..
