    The man is a genius. He's a thinker, a builder, a doer, inventor, an agent for change. We are lucky to have him.
    if you have never done so, read his article/cover story in Wired magazine from a decade ago. "The problem with computers is that there is not enough Africa in them" Whoa.

    This video just popped up as an advert before a drumming video. Seeing it was 5 minutes, I hastily waited to skip it, until he started talking. This is the first time I have EVER sat through a whole TH-cam advert, let alone a 5 minute video. Great way of thinking, and nice to see TH-cam provoking thought instead of selling products!

    Probably the best advert I've seen on a TH-cam video...except the Catnip acid one.

    The same thing happened to me. I opened TH-cam to watch a tutorial on sidechaining compressors. Initially I was annoyed that yet another advert was getting in my way, but I quickly felt compelled to watch the whole ad. After the advert finished, I just had to find the video for it to bookmark it. I shall be playing this quite often to inspire me.

    Brian Eno's mini lecture is amazingly clear and insightful. The clip is also very well filmed.

    funny how this clip is 4'33 in length, considering how Eno talks about silence and perfection at the end (somewhere john cage is smiling).

    I know of few musicians/producers who've had a greater affect on my life than Brian Eno, except maybe Pete Namlook, Edgar Froese, Alan Parsons, Klaus Schulze, Manuel Göttsching, and Bill Laswell. ENO=Rare GENIUS

    If he's not talking about Edgar Froese at 3:45, I'll eat my hat.

    • @williamhuston1
      @williamhuston1 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eat it. Froese used extremely complex sonic textures.

    • @deejaydubla
      @deejaydubla 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not about complexity but the search for perfection. I've heard it said that Froese's search for sonic perfection is directly responsible for Tangerine Dream's downward slide into blandness. Whether one agrees with this opinion is another matter, but Froese is definitely a man in search of perfection.

    • @williamhuston1
      @williamhuston1 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aaron Swain Complexity is the opposite of perfection. Listen to the rich textures in Force Majure for example. But I do see what you mean about TD's "downward slide into blandness". I loved everything from Phaedra to Tangram, including his solo discs, Aqua, Macula Transfer, Ages(!!), Stuntman. I quit listening around TD's Exit, which IMO was aptly named... So maybe keep your hat for wearing :)

    Eno likes to go where "no one has gone before" apparently. It just seems to me that every "new" thing he has ever done, had already been done by the so called "krautrock" musicians in Germany. Think about. Bands like Popol Vuh and Tangerine Dream were making ambient electronic music way before he released ambient one, Holger Czukay was doing samples of ethnic music before "my life in the bush of ghosts" and Can were doing the sort of ambient "studio as an instrument" rock before "Another Green World" was released. I am not saying he is uninterresting, but i dont think he is as "innovative" as many people claim. And i wonder why he never mentions the krautrockers in interviews, i mean, he did live and record with Harmonia and Cluster for a while. But sure it sounds cooler to be inspired by "the rain and barely audible harp music"

    千万别买登喜路的皮带,我有两根 一根2019年买的,年终奖自己奖励,花了我2000多。第二根2021年4月买的,黄色铜扣。我买到后对比,发现2019年买的居然电镀的边角掉色了。 我这根皮带很爱惜,比毕竟2000多香港专柜买的。就一周用2次吧! 关键我2014年买的万宝龙皮带,皮都用坏了,扣子没有任何地方掉色,电镀完美,更气人的是万宝龙这皮带1000多,而且我2014年到2019年是周一到周五天天用。2019年才和新买的登喜路交替用。我儿时有根登喜路,并且喜欢他的低调。所以买的。今天发现他这质量这价格。我以后真的不会买他家皮带了。感觉自己就是sb.
