Wow, came here after watching your video on exponential and linear FM. You aren't just extremely knowledgeable re: the fundamental components of synthesis but also very musically competent as well. I find a lot of folks tend to be one or the other-either great programmers and patchmakers or great at understanding melody. You seem to do both very well!
I need my omnichord om-84 strum strip repaired can you help me????? there are 2 little spots on the top and bottom of the strip that aren't working right.
Hello Keith. Omnichord Om-27. I don't have sound in my headphones. I use Ableton 12. Ableton, lets me record, but I don't get sound in my headphones. I use a Scarlett 2i2. And... I hear some white noise(buzz). Why does that happen? And I don't know how to listen to music created in Ableton either Thanks
Is it possible I could use portions of this in a personal video project of mine? It's about human happiness and the average persons experience of day to day life I will, ofcourse, give credit!
Dude, I also once commented that this music has something soviet about it. Also as the Jewish holocaust has its music. For me this music should be in the next movie that deals with the current war between Russia and Ukraine. To me it expresses drama, terror, hope and in the end, chaos. This music has an incredible ending worthy of cinema. A hug from Buenos Aires, Argentina
wow this is so incredibly beautiful! do you maybe know where I could find one for an affordable price? I only found them way too expensive (from 600 euro up)...could never afford that. if you have any tip for my search I m very much grateful!! peace and sunny greetings from Berlin :))
I may be a little late but this is an OM-84 System Two. I've never owned a Q-Chord so I don't know how great they are, but in terms of sound, the Q-Chords are digital while the omnichords are analog
They don't make the original Omnichord anymore, so the only way is to find a used one on eBay or Reverb. Make sure they include the original power supply!
Absolutely. Tape plugins are great as well, but you can hit 1/4" tape in a way where it both compresses and slightly saturates the tape to give the track a really musical sound. I hesitate before using descriptions like "musical," or "warm," but there's no easy way to describe sound with words. I have a 2-track 1/4" tape machine that can run at both 15 and 7.5 ips, and I run mixes from Logic Pro into it and then back into the computer and sometimes it's exactly what I the track needed. Individual tracks like a synth lead, or a bassline will always sound different considering how hard you hit the tape, but read up about what analog tape at those two different speeds actually do to the sound. I haven't heard a plugin that really reacts like a well calibrated machine. I got mine for $175 and only put another $130 into it after getting it calibrated for modern tape, which there are 3 different manufacturers of today.
This sounds like soviet synth-pop
My babushka will play at your wedding very cheap!!! 100 dollars is all comrade. I contact you on whatsapp. yesss? we make great deal!!

Naaaa ... not melancholic enough for Sovietwave 🤣
Listening to this melody leads me to imagine a sinister Soviet landscape

What a cool little jam! Omnichords should be an option for every little kid. They should include an Omnichord in every maternity package, 🤣
WOW! Sounds awesome!! I just got one of these and its amazing the sounds it can make!
I agree Matteo, the Omnichord is awesome.
Nice! It reminds me of The Stranglers in a way.
you made me smile with them changes from 1:29-1:36

This is one of the best instrumentals on the Omnichord. Thank you Keith.

Thanks for the compliment.

I've never seen one of those before! Looks cool, and sounds wonderful!!!
Excellent production
Beautiful work. I respect your set up man. That Revox looks incredibly kept up and sounds awesome!
"I want 2 B U" by The The is a nice Omnichord based song to listen to. Matt Johnston has used them on a few The The tracks.
Love it
I love this! This is so fun....I feel like it’s bringing back memories of a place I’ve never been before
That was awesome on so many levels. Analogue ftw :)
We need an extended version of this.
Not a single wrong note
Almost like a big boy
Good job
beautiful sound
This music is playing in the background as I read a magazine in the laundromat while Napoleon Dynamite and Mr. Rogers stroll by.
Yes
What a funny thing to imagine
amazing
Stunning! Great job. I think that the yamaha chords are usually thought of as cheesy toys but are really underestimated things of otherworldly beauty!
Is this my morning jacket?
This is sick
This man is badass
Wow!
This would stand up to the best elevator music anywhere
Very nice
Thank you.
Fire performance.
Oh man..... this instrument was used in alot of 90s games wasnt it... it feels so familiar

Hey! I loved your drums in this! I hope you don't mind, I tried copying them somewhat by ear for a piece of my own on the omnichord.

This looks like something jack stauber would use...
Damon Albarn has used the Omnichord a lot in the past to record demos and all kinds of stuff.

This is My Morning Jacket’s song
“Touch me I’m going to scream part.2” incase you guys like what he is playing

gangsta shit
is it worth the trouble to run my analog synths through tape first before going to DAW?
yes
damn this is beautifully hipster
Monkey Island
how u make the beat?
Its on the Omnichord itself
it's a called a bossa nova, a type of samba. Super easy to program if you can read music.
What do you think, is the Q-Chord as good as the old Omnichords? Does it have those same old-style beats?
I have one, it doesn't sound as nice. Q is digital, Omni is analog.
this was insane .. v good
