    I picked one up for under $150. Put it on my Canik TP9 SfX. Excellent sight! I’m not LE, but a retired Marine. 4 hour auto off not a problem for me. I am a RSO at a local range. I bought another one and put it on my G45. Dawson Precision 1/3 co-witness Black/Black suppressor height sights. I have more than a thousand rounds through this red dot - never adjusted W/E since I first zeroed it. I carry it on the range and concealed carry. If I am going to be out more than 4 hours, I just tap the +!intensity button and am good for 4 more hours. I purchased black nitride torch head screws from Albany Fasteners pretty cheap. They don’t interfere with the battery cap. Great sight.

    GREAT VIDEO!!!! I have a bunch of High End Red Dots, but I decided to try Riton out since I like supporting other Veterans. I just got it out of the Mailbox, and it looks AMAZING!!! I can't try it out today, since the Range is CLOSED!!!😡😆

    Update from Riton: …..Our current iteration of this red dot is the PRD 2. This version features auto off after 3 minutes of no movement, auto brightness/dimming feature and shake awake technology. There are no external/manual adjustments for brightness or on/off…..

    Auto shutoff is a big fail for carry sights. I'd like to see a drop test as well

    • @pewpewwerx
      @pewpewwerx  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed on the auto shutoff. Since the sight did not pass the intial carry criteria, we decided not to go any further with the "duty use" testing. However, we can definitely look to do that for an "overall" usability/sporting review. Thanks for the input. Stay safe.

    Seems like a nice Optic but the Auto Shutoff is a deal breaker for me, hopefully Riton will address this Issue In the next generation. It's great to see an Honest product review , Thank You So Much!

      I've never had a problem with the dot not coming on but I'm not leo either. I have had multiple issues with the adjustment screws not working. The 1st one was the solder broke going to the adjustment plate(I do not do anything hard to my firearms)and this 2nd warrantied replacement just does not move the dot.

    • @pewpewwerx

      C&H Precision has a plate for your gun and it is designed with a Trijicon RMR footprint (which is the same as the PRD/PRD2). So, you might want to check them out. Thanks for the question! 👍

    Nice review. Two questions, you talked about the auto shut off, is it motion activated? By that I mean does it turn back on when you raise the weapon or does it require you to manipulate the buttons again? Also the screws, have they started shipping the correct sized screws yet?

    • @pewpewwerx
      @pewpewwerx  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the feedback on the review. The sight is not motion activated. You have to manipulate the brightness buttons to get it to turn on again. Regarding the screws, Riton has not added the screws yet. However, they are now offering a mounting kit ($14.99) for purchase on their website. The problem is that it appears the kit is listed for the MPRD. So, it is not clear if the kit (screws) will fit the PRD. We will order the kit and post another video so there is no confusion. Let us know if you have any more questions. Thanks for again for reaching out. Stay safe.

    Would this be good for a shotgun for turkey hunting

    • @pewpewwerx
      @pewpewwerx  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We put this Riton PRD on a 12 gauge and put some rounds down range. The sight worked flawlessly. However, we did not put it through any hard testing or rigorous longevity evaluations by any means. The dot didn't lose zero though. But, that is pretty much the extent to which we can vouch for this sight on a shotgun.

    No shake awake , no thanks . Also no way this survives a hard drop. Holosun and Trijicon are the only dots I'd trust for edc

    • @pewpewwerx
      @pewpewwerx  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. That is another reason it is not duty approved. We actually did a drop test on the MPRD (it's slimline counterpart) and the glass cracked and then it failed zero. They are made the same. So, until Riton changes the housing material on these optics or figure out a design that can sustain a drop we can't approve it for duty use. Thanks for the comment. 👍

    • @pewpewwerx
      @pewpewwerx  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This isn't a Riton commercial. It is an independent review of their product. We have no connection to Riton. We purchased this product just like you. Regarding your experience, you should probably do a video review yourself so you can show everyone the issue you had with both Ritons. We can only comment on our experience. We currently have 2 Riton red dots that have been tested. As of this comment, they have done a great job above and beyond their price point. So, as mentioned earlier, create a video showing the issues so that your opinions can be expressed and seen by the community. That would be the most effective way to get your message out.
