As a lifelong fan of both the Islanders and Canadiens, I've had the privilege of following Patrick Roy's entire career. Living in Quebec, I’ve also watched closely as he transitioned into a successful coach, owner, and GM of the Quebec Remparts. With his experience and leadership, Roy has all the tools to help the Islanders rebuild and return to their winning ways. He’s exactly what the franchise needs! LGI
I hope you're right Darrell. I also am confident he's the right man for the job. Let's hope Lou gives the chef the ingredients he needs to cook a gourmet meal. Thanks for the comment, LGI
Good morning team! Gil, how are you doing today? I'm excited, truly excited, for this season with Roy at the helm from the very beginning. I loved what he did for the team last season, and looking forward to see what he can accomplish from the start of this one. I may be premature saying this, but I'm looking for Roy to at the very least be nominated for coach of the year honors, if not this year, possibly next. He got the team he inherited to play at their best, for what it was worth, and this year I'm looking for it again, of course as long as the team can remain healthy. Thank you, Sir. Everyone, have a great rest of your day! See you all again tomorrow. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!
Tony, if they stay healthy that would be a big step forward, especially on the blue line. 3 of their top 6 missed more than 20 games last season in Mayfield, Pelech and Pulock. Hope Roy can work some magic. Thanks for the comment. LGI.
I really think they can pull a rabbit out of there asses this year and give us fans a good run they should be able too these players are pretty damn good
Roy with a full camp/season can improve isles by 1. playing to win/not blowing leads. Unlike previous coach. 2. play more aggressive/improve pk (a must). Which line better suits duclair and where does tysplavov play pending he earns roster spot? Not much roy can do with weak offense that lacks scoring depth so must maximize scoring. Maybe put 13, 14, 29 together again if scoring struggles or hope a 21 can get hot for a stretch once again for offense. And 20, 32, 26 should battle for last forward spots unless a rookie (dufour, maggio, gill) or unknown (jefferies) impress and take a roster spot which is unlikely since louzer frowns on rookies or any player not over 35. And what if mr wonky back 30 is out for a long period of season? 40 can't handle a heavy load anymore. No comfort knowing journeyman/ahl goalies are waiting in line behind 40. Roy may want to suit up if isle goaltending implodes at any time during season. Which is bad news for isles a team that needs stellar goaltending more than any nhl other team to win.
Yeah, goaltending is critical for this team. That's the way Lou likes to build and it's not a bad strategy to start with a great goalie. I don't know if having Brock on the top line is a good long-term solution because it's putting a lot of eggs in one basket, but it did work well for a while last year. Thanks for the comment, Steven. LGI.
Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? Except for a couple of players who are no longer on the team, they're still the same. Patrick Roy's a very passionate man throughout his career. He was wrong for the way he handled his situation, but at the same ⏲️ Tremblay should've pulled him after he gave up 1/2 the goals. He's going to the guys what to expect from them. Take responsibility for what their actions. I'm not saying he should work them like dogs, at least I hope not. The Islanders should've participated in a rookie tournament. Matthew Maggio is working on his shooting. Henri Tikkonen 6'9 that's a big dude. It's going to be interesting to 👀 how the competition for the final turns out. The way Patrick Roy mixes and matches the way Al Arbour used to, anything is possible. HAPPY 🎂, JOHN TAVARES. THE WAY HE LEFT WAS UNFORGIVABLE, AND ALWAYS WILL BE. Before I go, I 👀, The Double 🌶 game. It took The Islanders 6 months, but they got their revenge, and it was sweet and hot. Hear from you later, Gil, and LET'S GO ISLANDERS.
Ah, the double chili game. Those are special memories. I hope Roy is able to get the most out of this team. Good to see those players standing out in prospects camp. Thanks for the comment, Cindy. LGI.
Not much if he doesn't lay down the law. Demand 60 min of every game played hard. Underachievers get sent to Bridgeport or multiple game healthy scratches. Lou did little of significance in the offseason and now Roy has to extract more from last year's lineup. Time for Mike Keenan level coaching.
He will have to lay down the law as you said. If he can't get accountability, the team will wallow in mediocrity. Thanks for the comment, barriem5318. LGI.
They had 2 problems last year the penalty kill and turnovers you make aure those 2 issues are addressed and well be fine bc remember we had 16 ot losses
The 16 OT losses could cut both ways. A slight improvement and maybe you turn some of those into wins. A slight regression and they're regulation losses. Hope they straighten things out. Thanks for the comment, Cory. LGI.

Watching every presser with Paul Maurice last year he said their run started in camp. They set their sights on the cup so camp is really important.
Always good to get started on a positive note and set a good precedent. Thanks for the comment, Alexkatsanos8475. LGI.

Patrick Roy is a terrible coach.
Why do you say that, mateuszliese1059? Thanks for commenting.
