"Mr. Mead" sounds just like an old Spanish teacher I used to have during high school. Whenever she didnt feel like teaching us, she just made us watch the the Mexican Telenovela _Rebelde_ for the entire class duration
Once I had a teacher's aid (ironically named Mrs. French) who wouldn't let her daughter call her "Mom". This is confusing to me because she knew her child was going to get to middle school eventually, so why did she get her into the habit of calling her "Mom" in the first place?

Teacher here. Trust me, it's weird for us too. We know we slipped up. We know we're not supposed to be personal. But sometimes it's a combination of either a student accidentally pressing our buttons or just a really bad day that we explode. We're only human after all.
That tonal dissonance is basically our way of saying, "Sorry, that got a bit too personal."

I was at a hotel and I saw an ad on tv for The Waltons. THE WALTONS.

my spanish teacher would teach us a phrase he would use to tell us stuff but we never practised it, so he was like sinquenta cinco provavor (or something, I dont remember but we just flipped to a page or had us say a certain word. the verbs unit was the worst because he did pictures, and did them in a random order so all I figured out was nadar, which means addition, which means swim) and what made the class worse is that I was one of those kids who was trying to be funny but failed miserably at that and got picked on. which sucked because we were supposed to say the spanish work. and I was just getting in trouble for being like "dude! I didnt say anything!" or "I am trying to do my work!" and my teacher is like, "hey do your work, all you are doing is talking to this red hoodie guy" and I would say; "he wont let me do my work!" and he is like "he did his work!" my response to that is just, deep breathe (line). I forgot what I said to that. also there was this one time when I was in math class doing my work and he just salmmed the chromebook I was using onto my hand. if my hand wasnt on the mousepad in the way that it was I would of had to sign back in and open up all my tabs again. (he's a jerk)

The only reason why I know about "The Waltons" is because my grandma watches it a lot and I sometimes catch a couple clips every once in a while.
I had a teacher that everybody calls Doctor Strange, even though he doesn't look quite the same, and we use to mess around with him : we where on a school trip in Scotland with a bunch of friends and we looked at each other and said "let's make a doctor strange challenge" which is basically doing movements look opening a portal behind his back while recording, and the one who got the most points at the end of the trip wins. Today I still have those videos of me and my friends doing stupid things in his back while trying to not get caught by any of the teachers (btw he's totally fine that everyone identifies him as Doctor Strange because a lot of students go see him and ask him "Did you know you look like Doctor Strange?", and apparently, he once did the movement to open a portal)
