I think it’s more about where you’re going as a business and what type of services you plan to offer. I had to determine this recently. I own several successful business and as with any business you must invest in yourself. In this business I decided that I wanted to offer a higher level of service. So, I completed the Esoteric Elite Detailer Academy where I saw what can be done in the world of fine detailing. Todd and his crew were amazing. And to see that Todd started out just like many of us was encouraging to me. If you plan to be a professional you need professional tools, products, and equipment. I recently had a Nusbaum lift installed in my shop to be able to complete wheels off coating service's and not kill my back while polishing and correcting pain. I plan to purchase this meter after the first of the year so that I can show clients what they purchased for their money by choosing me over the competition. Just my .02

I use my eyes, The absolute best tool

Sorry to disappoint you, but that's not the case in the least bit. Your eyes can't see what the tool can, and your eyes are prone to subjectivity.

@@MrMicke7406 Let's just say that we can agree to disagree. There's a reason why factories utilize measuring equipment like this to evaluate the paint out of the booth instead of people's eyes. There's too much subjectivity as one person's "good" is another person's "needs work". Your eyes cannot tell the difference in a 5% increase in clarity, but the tool sure can. So with that, you know exactly what processes and techniques provide the best and most consistent results.

Duh. What else are you going to use in order to see the readings of this tool.

@@waynem.6372 It's not about who can afford it and who can't...it's more about who can put it to use. Your basic DIY detailer really has no use for a tool like this.
