Peri Gilpin was so amazing in this role. She could play so many different aspects; she could be subtle or bombastic or anywhere in between. Plus, as gorgeous and sexy and glamorous as she was, she was never afraid to look weird or goofy or ugly if the scene called for it. Another thing that made her so perfect for the role was how her voice is basically the female version of Kelsey Grammar: they both had such deep, rich, velvety, soothing voices.
I like the one where she's at Niles and Daphne apartment and she thinks Niles asked if she wanted a threesome. Her face seemed like she was thinking about it, watch it again
The thing I really like about Roz, was that while she was a character who was known for sleeping around a lot, her and Frasier hardly ever had romantic chemistry. Outside of that one episode, they were important to each other because they were such close friends. In fact, she never really had a romantic storyline with anyone in the main cast. That's what made her special to me.

The testament to how skilled and professional Kelsey Grammer and David Hyde Pierce are, is that they didn't lose it completely when Peri said "muwwuble murburur". I could not have stayed in character - would have burst into belly laughter.
Not only is she a great character but she has the spirit we all need to survive tough times. She's not down for long, she's creative and kind and she can take it as well as dish it out. Strong, smart, optimistic and aware. Roz rocks!

My favourite character too. I don't mean to be unfair to Lisa Kudrow who was originally cast as Roz, but no one could play Roz better than the beautiful Peri Gilpin.
i don’t particularly care for Kudrow, but it would have been a totally different character and i don’t think she’d mesh with Frasier at all. Peri Gilpin was amazing - just enough fight in her to make her character work beautifully. she’s terrific!! 🌷🌱
I loved that Roz was such a complex character. While they made a lot of jokes about her sex life, they didn't make her just a dumb floozy type. While she wasn't an intellectual like Frasier, she was smart and extremely good at her job. Unlike Rebecca on Cheers, who was originally supposed to be good at business but not good at a social life, but became incompetent in business. She could be tough and hold her own in biting insults with Niles or Bulldog, but was also caring, always there for her friends.
I think she was meant to be a parallel to Carla... she had a good work and friend relationship, like Carla had with Sam, she was promiscuous, a single mother, knowledgeable of sports, and didn't take crap from anybody.
Roz was always my favorite character!! She is inspiring as the sassy strong independent strong woman. One of my favorite scenes is the one with the puppy “I can do it with me too.” BOOYAAA!!!!!! Such a fantastic line and she delivers it with pure perfection!! I always wanted to grow up to be like Roz best comedic actress ever to be on a sitcom! I watch Frasier reruns every night before bed. They bring back happier memories for me and never fail to make me laugh! Thank you Peri for being such an incredible awesome person and making us all laugh!

i didn’t realize how good she was til i saw her in all these scenes. she’s the perfect opposite of Frasier, yet there’s a spark there. that’s what makes a show work - that ‘touch’ between the characters. Roz and Frasier; Niles and Frasier; Niles and Daphne; and also their Dad and his two sons. and they all work brilliantly against and with each other. :) 🌷🌱

Great compilation! Another of my favourite Roz moments is when she tells Daphne how to be a good liar and then talks her way into Niles’ clients’ office
She was the best foil for Frasier, even more than Martin. They had a very strong friendship, and she loved him enough to knock him down a peg when he needed it.
How all of them got through that radio show scene at all without completely cracking up is beyond me...even in the scene that aired, you can see Kelsey cracking a smile for a few seconds, and David puts his hand to his mouth to probably keep from laughing. There was another scene where Roz's baby's parents come over, and well......let's just say they didn't even bother hiding David or Jane's amusement....
There was one really moving bit with Roz, where a caller had called into the show to complain about wanting to do things and enjoy youth even though he's in his 40s. And Roz tells him to grow up, and says she's a mother, and she's getting old but she enjoys that. And its things like that that makes you realise how swell life can be. (Even though the caller didn't even take her advice, Frasier was beaming at her with so much admiration.) This part made me smile and get glassy eyed. You really see Roz's beauty in this show. And Peri did an amazing job ❤
Peri was the perfect choice for this role... How they even considered Lisa Kudrow for this role is beyond me. Peri has a certain dominance required for the role I don't think Lisa has... And I loved her interaction with Niles..... the sarcasm in their scenes was exhilarating... As was her performance in the play 'Nightmare in....'.... Just now listening to her interaction with Dr. Nora... priceless!
I believe the producers said that when Lisa did scenes with Kelsey, he completely dominated her, so they wanted someone who could hold their own...enter Gilpen. It was the only character they needed to re-cast, otherwise they got everyone else right...

An excellent example of a character being developed and used to the perfect extent - not too much, not too little. Though I did have an insane crush on Peri!
