When I lived there (for a few short years thank God), I was told it was called “Sackoftomatos” because of all the tomatoes blowing off of the trucks all over the highways.
@@cherylkruisheer3365 This was true. Although it wasn't all over. But you would get a few tomatoes on the roads. But thats all gone now. Most of the agriculture has disappeared and replaced by suburbs. I'd take the tomatoes any day.
I am a 70 year old musician lived in Portland all my life spent my youth in the Paramont theater watching many fine shows I am going to make a point to talk to you in person to share my experiences for my love of this city it's a Dam Sham what's going on now
So sad. Portland was once such a beautiful little city. We passed through on a big road trip on my husband’s insistence and against my better judgement and it was truly horrific. RIP Portlandia

I still love Portland too! That's why I wrote this song. If I didn't love my hometown, I wouldn't care if it's in a state of decay. I just want Portland to return to its' former glory as a safe, clean and friendly place with a vibrant and unique culture. This song is NOT meant to express any disdain for the city! it's meant to spread awareness of the deteriorated condition that it's in, and maybe help to turns things around! We're on the same side!

People are so dogmatic about politics now, that even if their voting decisions lay destruction on their front door step, they will still do mental gymnastics to blame something else.
