As someone who has alopecia, it is nice to see a possible hairstyle that I could try. It is easy for those that don't have alopecia to tell someone with the condition what to do or not to do with their hair. Sometimes a person gets tired of wearing wigs and wants to try something new. Thank you for treating your client with compassion and also, being non-judgemental as well.

Thank you, I also have alopecia and first thing people say is wear a wig. I don’t wanna wear a wig. I also had people say just cut your hair bald. I exactly have enough hair to cover the bald spot in the middle.. it’s very thin though.

I have to say this. I see some commenting about the clients natural texture not matching & that's fine. However, she has extreme hair loss & I doubt wants to put chemicsls on it (Ms. Carla mentioned a silk press as an alternative. This woman is gifted!). Someone called the clients hair nappy. With the amount of loss she's suffered, I'm sure she's glad to have any hair & prob. glad its thick. Any tine a womans crown is lost it can take a toll on her self esteem. Miss Carla, God Bless you for not only making women look & feel beautiful, but for being thoughtful, sensitive & respectful to them.

Mz. Carla is very knowledgeable in what she does. I'm sure the client was informed in advance regarding the process to achieve maximum results and declined any heat, or chemicals since living with such trauma to her hair and scalp. The clients fear is expected.

Any stylist with these mad skills and who has mastered their craft like Mz. Carla would not hesitate to slay the back of this client's hair. It is painfully obvious the client requested not to have any heat, or chemicals applied to her natural hair, so all the derogatory comments about straightening the nape and back of her hair are just foolish!

Alopecia can come from many things. I am starting to experience some hair loss around my temples due to wearing locs for 10 years..all the pulling and styles and retwisting caused my hair to break off at the temples. I liked this look overall. I didn’t know what to expect at the beginning but you did a phenomenal job as usual!
alopecia areata is emotionally devastating for any woman to have to suffer through and your transformation is simply Stunning!

I have a suggestion if the clients prefer their face not to be shown maybe you can use a eye mask when we have bags under our eyes that one that way it will give them that comfort they need. You make us women feel beautiful and give us that confident that we have lost.👏🏽💕🥰

The concept is wonderful but she could have found or even used human hair that would match closer to color and texture...she was only concern about the coverup apparently...that bun was sloppy and I can see that being a mess by the time she wake up in the morning

Just a word to young alopecia sufferers. If you’ve lost smallish circles of hair they’ll probably grow back after a few months without any treatment. For a quick, easy solution, if you’ve got bald spots you can just darken the skin there with eyebrow pencil, for example. I admire this hairdresser for doing such an amazing job with what seems a more severe case of alopecia.

First off all, I would like to say, thank you for your time and talent. Second, a woman hair is her glory (long or short). Never know another woman's story. Doing hair is a form of art.

You are an amazing stylist and you do miraculous work. I think I would have asked the client though if I could have pressed her hair and then backed it up with a low heat flat iron which would have made the texture of her hair match the weave hair better and not become a distraction to the beautiful work you had done. I would have then used a freeze type hair spray to keep the hair in place. My experience with gel in the past on natural hair is that the gel would cause the natural texture to return slightly. I love your videos and your work. God Bless.

My stress has been outrageous, diet poor and no exercise, so it's my fault I guess. So I have fighting a lawsuit. But, I keep laughing instead of crying hoping for a break, hang in there. I suffer from scarring alopecia from an autoimmune disease and I'm so tired of wearing wigs and or scarves to cover it. I also live in the desert and yea it gets hot! Currently trying to find tips to help me conceal my alopecia and I stumbled on your video and I'm just in awe. I havent worn a ponytail in years also. Because it didn't seem possible. This is art! not hair styling.

It is truly amazing what you can do with hair. Afro hair is so versatile, I just always marvel at the beautiful and intricate hairstyles black people have. That kind of hair art is not possible with european hair like mine (how dull! haha). I think people in Japan (they also have thick and strong hair) can also do a lot with their hair, but the most intricate hairstyles I've only seen on black people. Truly awesome!
People who do not have Alopecia or severe hair loss will never, ever know.... that the sense normalcy is the greatest pleasure that one can feel. Yes this puts a bandaid on the cause, but it won't beat feeling beautiful
My hat is definitely off to you for this transformation!!! It is very difficult sometimes as a stylist to wrap your mind around how to create a particular style and formulate how to produce yours and the client's desired outcome. Kudos to you and excellent job!!

Ms. Carla tell ur client about collagen peptide, MSM, Vitamin C and iron pills internally and Tropical Isle Red Pimento Root hair growth oil externally to combat the alopecia. I did this then THANK GOD for my beautiful crown in advance my hair started growing! 🙏🏽
