- Finch Staff is one of the weakest summon weapons in Terraria 1.4.3.2 Journey's End and I defeated all bosses including Dungeon Guardian with 500 Finch Staff Minions (500 Finches) in TModLoader 1.4. In this video you can also find out what is the best summoner setup/loadout and how to get maximum summon damage in Normal Mode.

At first finches were comparable to zenith, but when defense started rising their dps massively dropped
@@fracturedemperoror defense has a bigger impact than anything lol I have no idea what you are talking about. damage literally drops to 1 down from ~15

second, are you talking about immunity frames? if so, yes immunity frames do play a factor but not as big of a factor compared to the enemies defense increase
@@nothingtoseehere9648 The finches ignore immunity frames. Movement forced the finches to chase after them which reduced the amount of time that the finches spent actually dealing damage.

while true, the movement means very little because like r2idk said, the damage dropped by a crazy amount once they started fighting hardmode bosses

the phrase "Death by a thousand cuts" comes to mind. especially at the hardmode bosses

It’s probably just part of the mod’s code, not the vanilla game’s code. It’s still funny though!
@@monkomess8950 It's code from the base game imo, would be weird to set a limit on it as that would always require changing in case of updates that increase the max minion spawn

@@monkomess8950 Basically imagine if there was a hard cap on how many birds you can have on your head (for example 9).
Then devs decide to add a new item that makes the max spawnable minions to 10, they would not only have to code the new item, but also go back to their old code and change the max amount of birds on your head to 10.
So imo they just have no cap on the amounts of possible birds on the player head to avoid having to keep touching old code

Finches actually make a good starter summon damagewise, but their accuracy and speed is minddestroying

That's an idea I had while watching this video, minions could take fewer slots as you progress to increase their use time

The most satisfying part was when the destroyer of worlds got defeated by 500 birds drilling it to the end
this was satisfying to watch
