when I was 8 or 9 my Dad built an Altair from MITS, it eventually ran CPM and then he transitioned to DOS. He still has that old relic and when I asked him he said he has booted it p somewhat recently
Built my kit back on New Years Day 2020. LOVE IT! Brought it into work to show and a lot of the old-timers in the office went crazy over it. The younger crowd were very intrigued by it. I'll be showing this, the PiDP-11 and -8, a Pi-64 and a Vampire V4 SA Amiga at the VCF East show which was pushed back to October...
Some USB keyboards and mice are actually dual mode and can work with both USB computers and PS/2 ones. They only need to mechanically adapt their connectors to hook up to PS/2 machine and in that case the little green thing has no electronics inside. For USB-only keyboards and mice you need an adapter that looks more or less the same but that actually has a chip in it with a USB interface on one side and a PS/2 interface on the other
Hey, I recognize that case design from somewhere....😉 For the record, the kit is WAY easier to get working than trying to wire everything manually on protoboard! 🤣 Great work, Chris! Did you get to check out the "laptop" Altair that I built a while back?
Does it come with the old Star Trek game? I am considering getting this once i get done with my 6502 project. What games does it have? I could not find a complete list on the web site
Chris Davis I did purchase your kit! Putting together this weekend. I am also going to embed my 65C02 board in there as well so I can switch from Apple to Altair in the same box!

Still enjoying the kit I built over 2 years ago. Great job at replicating that front panel.

I did! That was very fun.
Great presentation, Chris!
What camera re you using? I love that it integrates with the iPhone like that.
It's a Mevo Plus. It's a really cool camera. I love it, I wish I had more opportunities to use it.

It does! Actually several versions. Good idea about the list of included software - I'll try to get that on the website this weekend.
Chris Davis thanks
